Hit Boxes....soon To Come?

<div class="IPBDescription">I hope</div> Will Hit boxes ever be put in the game? Cause it sux to unload a clip into the aliens head (which is generally where there brain or ganglia, whatever they have, is)

And plus it might even out Fades a bit more if we could actually do some decent damage to them

    BUt probably no.. the game is more a teamwork-based, not accuracy based.

    There will never be 'headshots' in NS like there are in CS, or other mods. It just doesn't fit, story wise.

    Nope, i severely doubt that the dev team will ever implement NS unless they feel it might improve the mod. This is just one of those things that helps cheats get organized and really doesnt add much to the game. The dev team dint add hitboxes not because it was hard to code or they dint know how to, they actually just changed all the body part damages to the same values so that anywhere you shot them they did the same damage. After all, how much do you really know about khaaraa physiology to go around shooting them exactly where it does the most damage?

    Nope, doubt hitboxes will be changed.

    I have an idea about the hitboxes. Suppose that hitboxes could be triggered when there is an upgrade. Say the Marines have to build a "Med lab" where units could go to heal, and the commander could research better healthpacks, perform alien autopsies (to get hitboxes), etc.

    Just a basic idea and pipe dreams, but it would help ALOT.

    Hit boxes are not fair because the aliens don't have hitboxes to shoot at.

    For example, a skulk will not be able to jump up and bite a mirenes head off, so why should the mirene be able to blow a skulk's head off?


    Hitboxes would not add anything usefull to the game and therefore do not deserve to be implemented.

    To repeat what legionared said, the game already has hitboxes....DUH!...what you are refering to is called locational damage NOT hit boxes

    How does an aimbot in CS work? It gives you a headshot - an instant kill - every time.

    As soon as NS implements headshots or similar locational damage, aimbots will pop up to take advantage of a one-shot kill. That's why you won't see locational damage, nor will you see many one-hit kill weapons (exceptions are close-range shotgun and Gore to an un-upgraded marine).

    and why couldn't a skulk do that? They have leap, they can do normal jumps, they could cripple legs, they could climb a wall, jump off on marines head...lots of stuff they could do

    I think differently "weighted" hitboxes for head and torso wud improve the mod. It wud allow to kill those HA marines more easy even as a skulk! Just chomp their head and you even have a chance with only one hive. There is HOPE then!

    Same goes for fades. Shoot a couple of times at their head (which is slightly easier then chomp a marines head tho) and they lose more health. Turret farms tho wudnt autotically shoot at the head to make it fairer. It shud require some skill to take out someone with a headkill.

    Seriously i believe that extra weighed head-boxes wud be a great addition.

    Give it to the LMG.

    However, adding headshots really is unneeded in the game. THough an LMG upgrade would be welcome none the less.

    Weighted hit boxes are definitely needed. I don't know how they're placed now, but come on guys, you can't expect everything to rely off of teamwork. I understand about the cheats part, but that's why there's anti-cheat coding. This game probably won't have the same type of issues as CS, because there are no other 'skins' or 'scripts' that I know of, that you are allowing.

    It would definitely balance the game. Acid on my toes should not do the same amount of damage as a HMG spray to the head. It's just.. blah

    I don't really care much for locational dmg, just as long as that crouched marine in a vent thing is fixed :\. About the aimbots, they will still come even if there isn't locational dmg.

    i hope the hitboxes are fixed - meaning you can as easily kil a crouched marine, but locational damage...no.
