Burning Dvds!

<div class="IPBDescription">neato</div>I finally got around to actually using the DVD burner I picked up last week to make some backups. 35GB or so on only 8 discs, not too bad at all. :)

The thing I think was the coolest though is that it comes w/ a program (Easy CD/DVD Creator) that automagically converts from video (even Quicktimes :O) to DVD video. Finally I can watch <a href='http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/115368' target='_blank'>Computer Boy</a> on my TV, along with Troops and a few other things.

And the only thing that suck is now that I got this, I'm not quite sure what all I would want to burn to DVD... heh.

    With the right compression/codecs and an All-in-Wonder card, you can also fit 1/2 of a TV season on a single DVD <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Took me a while, but I recorded an entire series to 14 DVDs <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    DVD media is too expensive to do much useful stuff with it atm over here <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    It's just now starting to get cheap here in the US. $30 for a spindle of 50 DVD-R's... not too bad at all.

    Heh, imagine a personal MOD burner.

    Imagine the whole collections of series you can unite in one CD.

    They're not much more expensive, if at all, from CD media. You can use a DVD for every 6.5 CD's or so you use, and I don't think a DVD costs 6 or 7 times more than CD media. And you gain space.

    Of course, you'll need more careful labelling if you don't like putting stuff that doesn't have any connection on a DVD.

    I have a DVD burner, after a few weeks you will get bored of it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Anyways I use my nice shiny 80gig laptop hard disk that I got free and a $15 usb2 caddy for backing stuff up.

    Really should invest in one tbh but with chrimbo round the corner it's down the bottom of the priorities list.
