<div class="IPBDescription">just played a game with it....</div> i just played a game with the 1.02 beta server patch. Here are some of the changed i picked up:...
* now need 40% of vote to eject commander
* Fixed the bug where marines can destory their own structures
* Hive Sight has been Tweaked/Changed a bit
* +use on structure when researching no longer speeds up research
* armour has been tweaked a bit
* shotguns and mines now cost less, but also do less damage
im sure there are more, but i diddnt figure them out yet. all in all it looks great, good work NS developers.

I came across a server that claimed, in the server name, that it was a v1.01 server. I had a ping of about 70 to this server. When I joined it, everyone had a ping of >300, turrets didn't stop shooting when the turret factory was destroyed, Sentry Turrets costed 16 resources and everyone was lagging to hell. This leads me to believe this server was actually a v1 server. I was rather irate.

if the mines are weaker and cheaper that means we have to spam them a lot more meaning even more lag.

Perhaps you are?
One thing that really destroys it for the marines even if the commander is othervice decent is when they construct bases where the turret factory has no defence on one side. All it takes is one skulk and the whole base is toast.
I noticed some commanders placing the TF in corners with 1 or even 2 turrets guarding each exposed side, these bases really are a pain in the arse to destroy. Alone you have hardly any chance to destroy them, cause it's next to impossible to take out 2 turrets without dieing as a skulk. And if you only manage to damage one when you get back some #?"%" marine has repaired the turret...
If commanders would just learn to make better bases it would already make it alot harder for marines. It's better to make a well protected base than to have to rebuild the base over and over again.
I just wish they would add the ability to use %i to a bind.. Nothing like using the command of Covering you, and having the person you say your going to cover, not even realize your talking to him. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I'm searching servers at this moment looking for one running a 1.02b patch, but until I find one and actually verify differences between it and 1.01 (and not just a name change), I'm going to warn that neither I nor any of the other playtesters/Guides know anything about a new patch in the works or in testing.
I agree that there should -be- one, especially with the recent exploits discovered, but so far no one 'official' knows of the patch.
[edit]I just looked, and even completely updated my server list, and as of right now can not find a single v1.02 server. However, since the #naturalselection channel's topic does mention a v1.02 upcoming, and it was set by Flayra himself, I'm more than willing to bet this is for real. Yay![/edit]

Edit: The server is down at this time (3:00 pm EST) so perhaps they are updating it.
