anyone else's really crackly?
Does anyone else have sound that constantly snaps , crackles and pops, or is it just my hardware? If this has been asked before, oh well, sorry! Cheers MC
Not a problem here, however I have run into people before who've had this problem with other games/mods. It is a hardware/driver issue. Try updating your drivers first, see if that helps. Second, try reinstalling NS, even HL. That can help too. As a last resort, get a new sound card
Also heard that just running a defrag on your HD can help, give that a try.
hmm, the problem is limited to NS. Should I update my version to 1.1? .... it said servers only...

I get a little bit of this, mostly on the ambient MP3's, though. However, my sound card is probably suspect -- I get similar static in Unreal Tournament and zSNES, and also when I view Quicktime movies. So yeah, probably on my end of things.

This happens to me randomly in other mods. There is a crackle at the end of each sound. It's annoying. I'm not sure what causes it. I think it may be having the system volume up high and the speaker volume low (the sound card distorting the sound). Try lowering your system volume, and just turn the knob up on your speakers. Your speakers should do a better job of amplifying sound than the sound card/OS. Just a random hunch, not sure.
