Free Music!
<div class="IPBDescription">Free Music Thread?</div> <a href='http://www.ssh.ne.jp/' target='_blank'>http://www.ssh.ne.jp/</a> - Japanese rock band (I'd recommend their Heavy songs (Category is to the song's left) and the new one, 666 or something)
<a href='http://www.minibosses.com/' target='_blank'>http://www.minibosses.com/</a> - They perform game music. Rock. They have MegaMan 2, Castlevania 3, and a live performance of Ninja Gaiden available for download.
<a href='http://www2u.biglobe.ne.jp/~cranky/layer3.htm/' target='_blank'>http://www2u.biglobe.ne.jp/~cranky/layer3.htm/</a> - Japanese techno/piano artist. Some of them are pretty good, others are 'meh'... I generally like the ones where there's no singing more.
<a href='http://www.ocremix.org/' target='_blank'>http://www.ocremix.org/</a> - If you don't know what this is, you should be shot. It's basically here for example.

you can also check out <a href='http://www.digitallyimported.com/' target='_blank'>http://www.digitallyimported.com/</a> for cool streams (techno, house, Jazz, lots of stuff)
Edit so as not to derail chrono's thread:
Cam, you are my hero!
Can't quite describe them. If you like epic sounding, digital "bebop" sounds, then give them a try.

Most of the music in my playlist was found through there. Nice reviews too.
I highly recommend aleksi virtu meets tortsi at the space lounge.
On a more serious note, thanks?
Its like OC Remix, but with lower standards. They have about 10 times as much as OCRemix, but most of it is crap. There are a few gems on there that are not on OCRemix however, so its worth your time to look.

Maybe you could point out the gems, so we don't sort through ten thousand ones classifying as garbage? Assuming you already have the good ones.
Dude... thats just awesome. Thanks for the link, they have the best MM2 stuff ever.

Sure thing.
Here are some of the best ones I've found for the games I like. There may be more high quality ones for games I'm not interested in, so you'll have to search by game for that stuff...

The Release page sorts by rank by default too, so the top 2 categories are pretty much guranteed to be good quality wise (though they may not agree with your tastes).
Additionally, <a href='http://www.sonicmayhem.com' target='_blank'>http://www.sonicmayhem.com</a>
They have a far smaller array of songs, but every single one of them is worth it.

Found this, I like Prodigy, and theese are some pretty good remixes.
As per request, here is my contribution:
<a href='http://www.shareaza.com' target='_blank'>Shareaza</a> - Excellent P2P program. Also supports BT. Anyway all you have to do is use the search function.
Also for Anime Lyrics, I use <a href='http://www.animelyrics.com' target='_blank'>Anime Lyrics.com</a>
un-signed, and signed artists setup accounts and upload their music, you can even setup a queue and play your oinline playlist like your own personal radio station.
since they are un-signed alot of it is not too great... but some of it, AWSOME!!!

And, as to not be a hypocrite, I'll go for an easy one no one has posted yet:
<a href='http://www.xplorestudios.com/main.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.xplorestudios.com/main.htm</a> - Kevin Riepl, (co-)composer of UT2004 music, along with other games and other stuff in general (i.e. Olympics tribute). The type varies from song to song, so a description of the actual music is sorta hard :X
EDIT: Updated some text to make it easier to see.
+60 subgenres of everything that is Electronic Music. You can't go wrong.
DI might not let you download songs....but <a href='http://www.ets-global.org' target='_blank'>ETS-Global</a> (www.ets-global.org), which has much the same type of music, <i>encourages</i> it by putting up what seems like a half dozen or more of their shows each week for BitTorrent download.
good site, Riepl is a genius

Ripping streams is generaly illegal!
Don't ask how. Don't tell how.
If it is legal then the site will specificly say that it is.
