2) Understand that this is a new Mountain Dew product. Named, "Pitch Black" it is a grape flavored soda much like Live Wire (Another Mountain Dew "Spin-Off").
I will say that my first point was quite spammish, but it shows you the can in-case that helps you understand what I'm talking about.
Made for this Halloween season it is quite tasty and the fizz turns from purple to blue if you drink it in a glass. Magi-tastic.
But, honestly, I have a point, so let 'er rip.
I haven't seen any ads, commercials or hype for this product at all. Yet, I have a box of it sitting in my fridge. Why would Mountain Dew create a drink, spend time and money on this new drink, however minimal the time and money put to use was, with no marketting?
Better yet, how did I come to buy this stuff when I didn't know 10 seconds before I walked down the soda pop aisle that it even existed?
Truly amazing. I have no idea what led me to buy this stuff, really, none at all, I just thought... why not, Live Wire was good.
So what is Mountain Dew playing at? I think they're geniuses. They're definetly one of the more caffeinated beverages out today. (Sure, there's Jolt Cola but I mean this is a readily available, well known, backed by Pepsi-Cola.) So they've hooked their drinkers with caffeine alone. Then they introduce Live Wire and I swear that stupid commercial played every commercial break on MTV and VH1.
It seems Mountain Dew is targetting young people, somewhere in the teens to early twenties possibly. And they're doing quite well I'd say.
They've created a buzz. As dumb as it sounds, people are saying, "Dude, have you tried that new Mountain Dew stuff? It's really good."
They're mixing Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! collector appeal (Why? I don't know but it says Limited Edition on the can... I feel special inside for owning some. ) with caffeine and really astounding art-work to create an insanely popular drink among young people.
Man, they're smart. As a matter of fact, I'm posting about it on a forum with a CRAP LOAD of users. I'm doing the marketting for them, as all people that drink Mountain Dew will do with word-of-mouth. Truly amazing. What's your take on this?

I hate him.
Its basically a Mountain Dew reincarnation of the tropical sprite remix. Which is good because they don't have that kinda of sprite remix anymore, only the grape one.
I loved me some sprite remix, it tasted like... like skittle soda.
Mana has a lot of people fooled, but your sig image is too tall. (Limit is 75px)
I might consider trying this if:
1) I didn't hate grape soda with every fibre of my being
2) Canadian Mountain Dew had caffeine. (Anyone know why it doesn't?)
h4x.
Nope. Every other soda I've ever had has had caffeine in it.

Oh, don't worry, he's just crazy. There are plenty of caffeine filled drinks here.

As for the lack of advertising, I think Live Wire *was* the ad campaign for Pitch Black. People clearly are aware that Mt. Dew is doing limited-availability additional flavors, and when they see Pitch Black on the shelves they'll remember Live Wire and be curious enough to try it.
Side notes:
1) Live Wire's the best. Original Mt. Dew, imo, is the least of all the flavors.
2) I have a friend who can't drink Code Red because it gives her nosebleeds. o.o
/me remembers the simpson's quote, but still scurries away, bottle of Pitch Black with a hamster water bottle nozzle on it.
Diabetes doesn't zip up your mouth.
Live every day as if it were your last!
And for the Anti-Dew people...... The streets shall flow with the blood of nonbelievers. It doesn't have too much caffeine, sometimes I drink a can of dew to help me sleep.
Pitch Black has been out for a while, one of my friends had around 3 12-packs at her birthday party in late August.

Which happens to be different from "Make sure today is your last day!"
i would have had some if my friends dad hadnt swigged out of the 2 liter bottle....
ick
Here, at least.
You use Mt. Dew to sleep? That's... that's insane. When I drink the stuff I start to shake because of all the energy.

Ontopic: I've never tried Mountain Dew. I don't think it's availible in Sweden :/
