<div class="IPBDescription">It does help!</div> Well here are a few tips from me to improve the overall experience.
In a post a way back somebody said he had been commander and that everyone was calling him "Sir".
Strange as it may seem, such small things can REALLY improve gameplay.
It is not the marine's role to question the commander and obeying orders with sayings such as "Yes, sir!" or "Let me spread him over that wall, Sir!" can really help improve the experience.
Even more fun is when you taunt over the public channel. And don't go "3y3 pwned y00" or whatever (what is with that pwned stuff anyway, have we all ben infected with retardism? hehe), but instead go "The next one will end the same, spread over a large area". This does make it more fun, and trying to come up with a clever comment makes you seem so much more intelligent than "HMG AT BASE PLZ!" etc.
As an alien I like to go "The brood shall have your skin, biped!" (oh fades are bipeds too, eat me <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> ) or "Your entrails taste fine with a fine bottle of Chianti Tststststs". Or just generally communicate with the teammates in another way like "Aaah my brood, well done!" or "Come, brethren, let us devour the intruders!" and work so much better than "f0ll0w m3!".
The "role playing" makes it so much broodier and if several players join, it can be quite a nice experience.
I hope more people agree with me, serious players can really add to an amazingly atmosferic game <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Cheers!

Comments
I sure know when I become commander (its rare =p) and when ppl start addressing me like "sir" or "commander" I get a big ego boost...giving me the baility to order around my dedicated troops much more effectively (I even decide to give out teh rewards to the marines that wanna be much more nicer to me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->)
And on the Kharaa side I cant help to laugh to myself when I see a heavy marine walk down a corridor that i'm cloaking in and then just start freaking out when I taunt him/her personally over global talk..
Its small things like this that really make NS that much more enjoyable <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Look at MUDs, it can really work out..
But I guess that currently everyone and their mom is exploring NS and so a closeknit community is out of the question, let alone play on a server together. Shame really..
I just hope, that in a perfect world, somewhere, somewhen, people RP their NS <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Considering I can never play regular games...I hate having a social life and work <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
I always just hop around hoping to find a decent one without cheaters and with a bit of RP <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
"Hey (whatever his name was, dont remember): We're watching you..."
He just stood still for a moment, and then started slowly walking back towards the outpost, looking all over the place.
I let him live.....that time. Sometimes scared marines are even better than dead ones.
