No ones up to the challenge, common!
Well it seems know one is up to the challenge of this. There are 2 ships, one small and one big. There is one hanger in each one. Know, what I was thinking, Is that a dropship, max seating 15, will take off from the small dropship's hanger, go through a forcefield, travel a bit, and land on the bigger ship's hanger. A simple transport system IMO. It can be used once, or repidily if you can get it to move back and forth easily. The dropship model is from the game that uses the halflife engine, Gunman Chronicals, i will post the model in a little. The main combat area will be on the big ship, very gloomy, but the hangers are nice and organized, well lit. The trouble is, when and how to get the dropships doors to close, in the game it looked like it used a player_trigger or something, cus when i stepped in it, the doors closed and it took off, the transport has no windows, so you really dont need anything xtra sept a space backround. HERE is the dropship model! You have to have Halfife Model VIewer to look at it, just put the model in some non-used or blank folder and look at it. http://www.geocities.com/silencerck/dropship.zip

I know you can do this without a model, and it'd probably be easier in the long run (I think using models as inhabitable vehicles requires some extra coding. Correct me if I'm wrong, though). Plus you could throw in some avelocity tricks with the proper origin brushes and get a really neat takeoff effect.

S|lencer is messing around with the model, so it can be implemented a heck of alot easier.

If thats the Gunman Cronicals dropship, then isn't using it against copyright?

Just be careful round that area if you want to even get considered for official map status.

*smaks head* it was right under my nose!!! Insted of the dropship going anywhere, it dosnt move!! this will be a one time event, after that the spawn goes down to the bottom. On the top, there is the little ship, with a hanger door. People hop in, and the doors close, an env_shake jolts a little, and they think they are taking off into space..but in reality, them and the dropship are going a short distance from the top of the map, to the bottom, into a hanger via an elevator..gatta make it invisible somehow...anyways, they hop out of the dropship saying "whoah, didnt know you could do that with the engine...briliant!" Can someone be up to the challenge of this? Oh yeah, the Gunman Chronicals has the same licens agreement as halflife, you can use it in maps, but for cash a big nono.
