Certain Servers Not Appearing

<div class="IPBDescription">ARRGH</div> On steam, a certain server that appears and works perfectly for everybody elese neither shows up on my server lists nor am I able to connect through console. The server is in my favorites, the favorites link doesn't work, the latency says not responding. It doesn't show up in the main list regardless of filters, I double checked the IP on their forums, but regardless I cannot connect. To add insult to injury, the server does indeed show up on the All Seeing Eye, but if I attempt to connect, Steam simply retrys repeatedly, each time failing. I'm admin on this server as well so I don't know why I cannot seem to connect in any way shape or form. Nevermind, now it no longer shows up on the All Seeing Eye either. Refreshing doesn't work, nor does pinging. WTH IS GOING ON? It is like either my computer or my clan's server is rejecting ALL things from my IP address. GAH!

    Is it using a port other than :27015?
    Are you connecting through a router? (Even if so, it's a long shot if this has anything to do with it)

    I'm guessing server is using a different port, so when you enter just the IP in favourites, it will default to 27015 and hence not show up. This does not explain it not showing up in the server list though, but it's easy to miss there.

    Edit: lol, actually, can you post the IP here so we can check?

    Yes it is using 27015 and no the steampowered thing is neither the bug I am experiencing nor did it solve my problem.

    interesting, i had this EXACT problem a while ago. one server, only problem was me. other people saw it, i was an admin for the server. would show up in the server list, and the favorites list would show it as "not responding" but i could connect to it through the console, and i think i could see it under ASE. i dont have the problem anymore. i think it was related to the server being out of date. but that doesnt explain why the problem was specific to me......

    No, but my server does not appear on ASE and I cannot connect to it through console. I also cnnot connect to any of the other servers. The three servers I can't connect to but others can are

    I've tried them all through console. No go. What's really weird is that even after a fresh install, I can't get on, and I cannot get onto the 1.04 server which I had never even tried to go on before. It seems that either my computer or steams or the server is rejecting any direct connection or pining to the server alltogether.

    Hmm, Sheep. That is weird. I skimmed it real quick and didn't see you mention reinstalling. So if you didn't, try that as a last resort. Otherwise it sounds like your connection is screwy. Firewall? Disable/enable anything connection related?

    Tried it, no firewall, didn't work on another computer in the same house, havn't changed routers or ISP. Since it didn't work on a different computer I'm assuming that the server is not accepting my connections, it can't be steam because the ASE also doesn't show it for me.

    Try doing a trace route? Don't really know what could be wrong then.

    hello,

    aprox 1 month ago I had a similar problem with my router its an easy fix change your +clientport and change your connection port..If it dosent your gonna have to read your router manual to set up a direct connection with the port that you need open to allow a connection to the akward server that prevents you from connectiong to it, im not sure about why this happens the average is like 1 in 50 though. good luck
