Help! I'm Teleporting

<div class="IPBDescription">Some tech assistance please</div> For some time now, numerous people in-game on the servers I frequent have told me that I have been teleporting. Not by using phase gates or redemption, but that my model skips around teleporting from position to position. Naturally I'm quite concerned about this and would like to fix whatever is causing this. Many of these people have suggested that my rates may be the problem.

My steam settings have my connection set at LAN/T1 > 1m. I'm on an ADSL connection with 1.5Mb download bandwidth and 256kb upload bandwidth. I've played around with some of the rates settings and I can get my choke on net_graph 3 down to between 0 and 4, but people still say I'm teleporting. Can anyone help me out?

    Rate: 20000

    cl_updaterate: 40

    cl_cmdrate: 60

    Those are the only ones I know of

    Set your rate to 9999

    n/m, read the number as 2000 and not 20,000

    You'll probably find more help there. Not to be rude and in your face with a link, but people that look on that forum to respond to things, generally know their way around the hardware.

    You might just not have enought upstream bandwidth, so I'd try to lower your rate and see if that helps. Try lowering it to somewhere around 10000 to begin with and if that doesnt help, try lowering it another 1000 at a time untill see a difference. This might of course not work, and if so just set your rate at 20000 again <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Do you suffer any loss? You can see your loss just to the left of where you see your choke on netgraph_3.

    I'd suggest:

    rate 9999
    cl_updaterate 50
    cl_cmdrate 90

    These do well by me and I'm on a similar connection.

    It might also have something to do with your computer specs. Seems like you only teleport when your movement is very fast, maybe it's because your comp can't handle it?

    Or turn your seeding way down. BT seems to limit the rate by bursting rather then a smooth limit. (Have had similar problems. Dropped upload rate way down.)
