Is there any use to it at all?
Is there any use to Advanced Hivesight at all? I mean, it's not like there are any cloaked Marines to worry about... =/

That would be.. the only skill i have never used.. maybe i'll try it sometime. (might help the skulk see past his teeth?)

It helps to find marines that could be hiding in a dark room. I find it really useful as an Onos because of the marines circle strafing you.

Its handy..if you are not planning on cloaking, or using scent of fear, I recommend getting it. Lights everything up. I wish it would make it so you can have "parasite" vision of any marine within 15m.

The way I see it, you are basically turned into a Sensory Chamber, detecting your own enemies.

i think i have a problem with this power. If i take it then when i activate it all my aliend friends and structures glow very brightly and such but the marine structures and ppl seem nearly invisible. has anyone else seen this happen?

it depends on the level. Level one upgrade makes marines harder to see actually(which is strange).

I use this a lot, since I am constantly attacking (not hiding to prey on marines) and I don't crank my gamma to insane levels. So in a lot of areas in maps I can't see anything.

I would really like to make a script like this:

alias hson"drawhivesight; alias hs hsoff"
alias hsoff "hidehivesight; alias hs hson"
alias hs "hsoff"
bind X hs

Unfortunatly, I do not know the way to disable just hive sight. I can turn off the HUD entirely, though. :\

I never said people who can see have insanely high gamma. Take the dark corridor in ns-hera (i think it is) right by the marine spawn, I cannot see anything in it unless I use flashlight or something, it is pitch black on my screen. However some people seem to see fine in it, (standing their as a skulk not moving, guy then shoots me to death after opening the door, etc.) So I gotta use hivesight thats all I am saying.

A possible reason for this is because the light in my room is on the ceiling behind me, and is very bright. So their is possible glare, making it harder to see. I usually try to play with lights off (makes it much easier)
