Centralized Governance

I just posted a reply as to a group's concerns scripting, rambo, teamplay etc... It was apparent that people need a mediating source to help resolve concerns. I have a proposition to the NS Team and the entire community. I propose that the team develop a governance structure, un-enforced obviously, which would lay out a set of rules/guidelines for server admins and players to follow. For example, to script or not to script. After all, that is the question. I strongly believe that the team and especially the designers should state there clear opinions on issues such as scripting (just a hot example). They should also give the community the opportunity to vote on the issues at hand. It is a sort of mini democracy within the community. If you don’t like the decision, at least you had your chance to voice your opinion.
I believe this would greatly aid the further development and maintenance of NS as a community. After all, that is part of the game is it not?
I’d like to hear what other have to say, AND, please if anyone is listening, what YOU have to say as well.

the dev team already made it clear how they stand, and it must be semi-divided. hence the option for server admins to decide whether they want scripting enabled or not.
I think the devs putting their opinions forward would cause needless arguing and side-taking among the community, and this wouldn't help. I don't know what more people expect to have than an option to disable it, which is governmned by server administrators who pay good money to run and control their servers, and they have every right to set the server variables to however they want them.
this concept isn't a good one IMO, and I don't think it should be done.
Edit: I notice now that you include more than just scripting. I'm not sure what you expect to accomplish with a "mini democracy" when it comes to ramboing or lack of teamplay, etc. these problems are left up to the individual, and short of giving commanders undue power over their marines, there really isn't any obvious solution.
as far as the "etc", I don't know what that includes.
