A mass obstructing a narrow passage. I am sure the gorge is not an object blocking a narrow passage. So how did it get this name?

    Indeed. If you ever RTFM'd, you'd know that the gorge, when it wants to build a structure, it will congeal it in it's stomache, and then barf it up when it becomes too big for it's tummy and continues to build it on the outside with it's mouthbits.

    I think the gorges should explode and their carcasses should evolve into the new hive like in Starcraft with the Zerg.

    Also, if you look in the old Manual, you'll see that one of the original lvl. 3 abilites listed for the gorge, was to "regurgitate" out little AI driven skulks that could explode; making the gorge a mini-hive.
