Plz Play This Way...

Oki i see most players on the servers... go out solo on the servers with out waypoints or commands to follow...

I don't think thats the way to play cuz... Players just whine 4 stuff at the base and then find som resource and whine 4 stuff there.... and that realy gets anoing' for the commander... if like 5 players are whining 4 stuff at different locations of the map....

When U play marine.... Always w8 4 you commander to guide U... by making waypoints and structures...
That way The commander always knows where his troops are... and if he see it right then he will also drop stuff 4 u.... think of it as chess.... or RTS don't go fraggin some onos alone cuz he kills u verry fast... just w8 4 your commander to give orders.... to follow.... if he's not giving commands the eject him...

Usually when I play, I have to shout ten minutes for the orders (no, I don't flood the give orders)
Most of the commanders I've saw, are lazy or something..

Not wishing to blow my own horn or anything but i'm a pretty fair commander, so far won 4 out of 5 games being a comm, only lost that one due to the marines being idiots and running off and leaving the base empty lol.

But i agree, the commander has the final say when things get built, and if a few marines are following orders and getting things built, but the other marines are running around and shouting for ammo and health, then i say stuff em!

You either follow orders and work as a team or you die and your team loses, simple as that.

This game is very much built around TEAMWORK!, this is not CS or TFC or DOD, where you can go off and do your own thing, this game REQUIRES that you work together for the max chance of success.

Now playing as a marines i tend to stay in the base at start, build things up and wait for the comm to give me a waypoint to the next res or hive, which works wonders, as a marine the comm will build and give you stuff if your where he/she expects you to bo.

Only thing that really bothers me is a slow/thick or new commander who doesn't know what he is doing, if it is the later then i try to help him/her using either voice or typing, normally we lose anyway as they are learning, but players who just shout for med and ammo when a comm is trying is just asking to be left out there on their own.

I think its a 2 way thing here, you have to help your comm as much as he/she helps you, remember that word "TEAMWORK", very important here.

I often try waiting in the marine base for commander orders. After a while I get bored and use the menu to request orders. Then I try asking for orders. When the commander still doesn't respond I get fed up and run out to see if I can find where all the other marines are running off to as soon as they spawn. Maybe I just have always had bad commanders, but for me waiting in the marine base never works. Often the commander won't even respond to a direct question. Commanders need to use voice comm if they have it or at least type messages to their troops often. It helps teamwork a lot when your commander tells you what the heck his strategy is.

spyhunter, from my perspective as a commander, it's a real pain to have to jump back to base and lasso a marine, then scroll back to the hotspot and click a waypoint. I know it's useful but in the heat of the moment it's not always possible. What I suggest is to start poking around base in circles until you find someone, and then stick with them. The more people you stick with, the more likely the commander is to pay attention to you. Take this as a fact.

Even worse when you get a hmg instead and manage to take out the defenders and start chewing on the hive. After several minutes of spawncamping and still no ammo or backup, and finally you cant hold out anymore...

When I'm a marine I usually get outside the base and crouch in some dark corner and ambush the rushing skulks instead
With a good position, preferrably in a long corridor, you can hold off skulks until you run out of ammo.
I don't see this very often, but to use the aliens own tricks against them can be very useful. Just because they have scary models, don't mean they aren't humans

hate commanders who assist peeps who's attacking a bunch of chambers and not assist peeps who's blowing up the hive

I think it's good to have maybe one or two "rambos". I generally ask for a welder, and once I get it, I start welding everything shut. I then proceed to the nearest hive and if it's empty, I ask the comm to build a base there. If I followed my teammates, it might've been too long to grab the hive. So, I think it's generally necessary to have someone scout, aka the "rambos", around. And sweet jesus, if you see me in a game, and I ask for a welder, gimme! I DO know how to use it!

Most games have the aliens rush, and then the marines all head to a spot, and the aliens fight the marines for the spot.. and while that's happening, I'm going around the battles, and finding an empty hive. Eight out of ten "runs", I usually make it safely, also welding the vents on the way, if I hadn't on my first run. In mid-game, I usually start teamplaying, but it's nice to have that hive early in the game, especially if the aliens only have one hive and a gorge accidently steps in a turret farm.

just a suggestion, does anyone think that commander being able to MUTE players from team chatting or using voice command would be a good idea for people that just keep on asking. well at least a flood control type thing.

I wish it were possible to ignore those idiots and only give guns to the marines that are following your orders but its not, the rambos *always* outnumber the teamplayers and as soon as one of them figures out how to vote you out (not all that often but they remember after the first time) its all over, then they take command and do absolutely nothing but drop hmg's gl's and HA at base, and then it all depends on what version the server is, if its 1.0 we win, if its 1.01 or above we lose, simple as that.
