    Yeah, just HL2, I don't think I'd bother with CS:S. But I don't think there's a chance in hell I'll free up 1/4th of my poor POS Harddrive. I've got about.... 500 or so MB left. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    HL2 was aprox 3.7, HLS and CSS were just over half a gig each, total was about 5.2 gig. HL2 is friggin huge, but definately worth it.

    Wait, your monitor has 100 mhz refresh rate at 1600x1200?

    Because unless im mistaken, Vsync stops the Fps from going higher then your refresh rate...

    Yea Talesin, how? Are all your settings low or something? I've already posted my performance higher up, and this is my system:

    Athlon 64 FX-53
    1024MB of PC3200 DDR400 RAM
    ATi Radeon X800 Pro VIVO w/ 16 pixel pipes active

    VSync is off.

    So why does my framerate hover between 50 and 90 while my system is better?

    I wish they'd release some sort of demo, since CS:source ran moderately on
    my 1ghz machine, and by the sounds of it, hl2 should run even better.

    Note: the installed version is quite huge. You can backup HL2 and CS:S on one DVD though.

    You don't get much worse for gaming than that. Oh well, at least I have 512MB of memory sitting there to compensate. I'm still not sure that I should get HL2 with those specs, though.

    I'm sorry to say this, but what everybody is describing as low-end is more like throw-away now. Go donate it to charity or something. I mean, on ebay you can get a crappy P4 3GHz system with a Rad9200 for only $400 (thye skimp on every detail). Geforce 2 is only good as a backup, you won't even be able to sell it. Go upgrade.

    p.s. no, I don't have a killer system/rubbing it in. I'm just saying this for your own good. get a low-end system, not a pile of junk.

    Agreed...

    Don't look at me. I've got the worst specs here.
