So I'm Considering Xbox Live

Figure out if it is worth it.
I don't personally have Xbox live, but my friend says there was a download for Halo 2, so they might have changed the Halo 2 matchmaking service.
At the very least, you can try to get to know some people in on game, join a party and then continue with them for a while (no telling you'll be on the same team, though)...It is pretty fun, though.
[I'd wait until I heard of factual evidence showing an update Halo 2 matchmaking service, personally]
I am very against Pay to play, however I really like Mechassault too and was thinking to myself, "50 bucks for an entire year really isn't that bad" Thanks, more feedback from regular users would rock too.
Xbox Live is a wise investment provided you're willing to play and enjoy Project Gotham Racing 2, Outrun2 ("???" - forum), Halo 2, Crimson Skies and Top Spin. There are other Live games, but you'll be hard pressed to find any better than those.
Frankly, I'd say it's worth the price for PGR2 alone, but it's really a love/hate game. I hated non-arcadey racing games before PGR2, but the experience of blasting your Ferrari F50 around the streets of Edinburgh, racking up style points along the way, is just incredible. On the other hand, Outrun2 is just an all round lovely game, unless you're a total plank.
The quality of players usually depends on what game you're playing. The worst example is Midtown Madness 3, the game that used to come free with Xboxes (so readily available to kiddies with little finance for new games). I imagine the Hell of man and myth to be filled with the evil you encounter on MM3. Conversely, as you'd expect, the players of games like Links 2004 are nice gents. Halo 2 is filled with smack-talking morons, but if you get with a group of people you know, not much can go wrong. Outrun's nice as it's full of older gamers, as they're the kind who'd swoon all over a five minute long retro racer. PGR2 is much of the same as Outrun, and an absolute world away from your typical NS server.
Halo 2's matchmaking was apparently fixed in a recent patch.
IIRC it expires in January. Check the card.

I'll stop wasting my breath.
So lets get together, I will camp in the same spot that person did with a shotgun and I will kill you 20 times in a row while you tell me how much you enjoy it. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Oh... Right...

Flush them out with grenades.
Snipe them.
Rocket launcher them.
Get another shotgun and return the favour.
