So they have been deported from my skull
Hey kids! Guess what! I'M IN MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF PAIN! Just all 4 of my wisdom teeth out, I'm lovin this, lemme tell you guys. Can't talk, my lip feels bigger than Bubba from Forrest Gump, and I could start bleeding profusely any minute. So, anyone else out there had this done, and if so, how long will did the whole "living hell" thing last for you?
Hey, on the plus side, I got me some oxy to make the pain go away! I think it's just kicking in now!

Don't I look so much better?

I had all four of mine cut out a few years ago.
I suggest going to an oral surgeon who specializes in it rather than your jack-of-all-fillings dentist, unless you have confidence in him. My dentist is an **** so I was all for the oral surgeon idea.

Same here, all 4 out by a surgeon I now have much respect for.
I have no idea of my pain tolerance compared to other people's but let's put it this way: it's more annoyance than pain. Though I wasn't legally allowed to operate a motor vehicle to drive myself back home (painkiller + car + highway speeds = bad), I was conscious enough to change the radio stations in the car with my foot from the passenger seat. I say "with my foot" because both hands were trying to handle the gause, cotton, and tissues in and around my mouth. Expect to be drooling all over the place -- it's the same natural reaction people have when they first get a retainer or braces from an orthodontist.
Once you've got a steady supply of tissues and a conveniently located wastebasket near the couch or sofa, plop yourself down and start ordering people around. I took advantage of my then-stationary status and decided I needed to watch all the classics I hadn't seen yet, such as Blade Runner, the Godfather, and Alien I. Meanwhile I was asking for all the ice cream I could handle.
Bottom line: if you have a surgeon who's smart about it, getting your wisdom teeth removed will be a good experience, not a bad one

OMG ALLUR EATS BABIES!
In other news, congrats AllUr. I bet those wisdom teeth were a pain in the neck. Thankfully, I don't have any wisdom teeth

Lucky. I wish I knocked out that easy. Sleep is the best pain-killer of all.

Nah, even Cuba won't take those guys, I think they flew 'em off to the middle east somewhere, so if you hear any talk about suicide bomber molars, that's my fault.
Oh man these drugs are bad....I actually thought that was funny.
I opted for just the novacaine shots, no gas or full knock out stuff.
I sat in the dentist chair listening to my head phones.
Sudenly the dentist couldnt get out my one tooth, He could not get it no matter what.
In the end he was basically sitting on me with me in a headlock while he pryed to get it out with some big pliers.
it was pretty funny.

Pfff, they gave me oxy for a broken arm.
EDIT: It outlasted the injury by a long shot. I got it refilled about a week away from when I was going to get my cast off. <.<

where they were supposedly split among the population (castro realy has them all!!!!)
The first time, I had an upper tooth evicted, and it really wasn't bad at all, except I waited to take the painkillers ... which I shouldn't have done, cause when the anesthetics wore off, it hurt A LOT. I've sat in a tattooist's chair for four hours nonstop, and the tooth thing was WAY worse. ><; It didn't swell much at all, and I think what there was went away after a week or so?
Then I had a lower tooth taken out, and that one swelled quite a bit, and lasted longer than a week. Didn't hurt as much, though.
I didn't get gassed either time, just shots. It was um.. interesting having the dentist prying the teeth out, he had problems with the first one so it took him awhile and some effort
Oh but the gas is the most fun part! After about a minute on the stuff I began to find the little heartbeat monitor to be the funniest thing in the world, and I could swear the doc/2 nurses were talking abou the proper placement of aprons on stools (the sitting kind) at one point, which made me giggle muchly also, and if I closed my eyes, it sounded like their conversation was coming from inside my brain. The weidest thing though, would be when I think one of the nurses made me touch her behind. Both my hands were resting kinda open on the armrests, and right after they set up the gas on me, one of the nurses started rubbing up against the side of said armrest in what she must have thought was a subtle (or accidental) manner, which was about level with her lower butt area, I was kinda freaked out, but far too amused by the heartbeat monitor to care, and eventually the doctor walks over and was like "You're too close to him, stand back!" cuz he needed to jab the IV into me. At the time I was kinda weirded out by that one, although maybe I was hallucinating?
That and me trying to speak right after I got done with the surgery were the two best parts of this whole thing.
I'd go to the doctors office every day just to get gassed if that happened.
Hurt like hell coming through and one of them took the cap off one of my back teeth which I haven't had replaced, but its kinda dead so I guess it's all good.
