Device Error Crash On Map Change

I gave up NS for several months, and when I returned to the game, I started getting these errors:

when the server I'm on goes to change maps, my computer crashes completely (BSOD and all)
and, my sound works very poorly and sporadically.

Prievously, I had none of these issues.
My system: 1.6MHz Athlon, 128mb Geforce, desktop, Windows XP

I already tried updating video drivers. When I report the error to Microsoft, they say an unknown device driver error occurred. Any suggestions?

Actually, they say it may be a device error.
I'm getting the same error, when I start a server with RCBot and Hive Mind, I play the first map, (co_ or ns_), it runs perfecly (without the sound problem you mentioned), but when the map changes, the second I get in the map, the game crashes.

I'm running Metamod 1.17.3, RCBot 1.3, Hive Mind 3.5 and NS 3 beta 5 with steam.

as to the original Post I would suggest doing the obvious full Steam reistall, reistall your drivers too. if it still dosent work you can restore all your defaulted drivers with windows [cant remeber the command but ill look if you need it note:youll need a working copy of your OS or .cab files]

as to the second post your relating your crashing to a specific server setting as the first post refers to a server I dont think its his or on his PC.Although I had VERY similiar crash experiences try to make sure your metamod is up to date and is the "special" version that accepts all mods. I can get you a link for that aswell if req.
