section, and I see the menus and everything, however whenever I try to
play or even to create a game it instantanously exits to my desktop, I
mean it has completely exited NS.

What video mode and res are you trying to use?

2) don't use the desktop short cut (only use the custom game tab)
main menu I can't even open CONSOLE, it wont work and Im not using
the desktop shortcut I use my own NS icon that I created from the info on
these forums.
Yes I can see all the forums, and I've tried all graphic modes, software, open gl, direct 3d

If it's 2k/XP check the taskmanager to see what your CPU utilization is doing just before/after you crash.
What happens if you just start up CS normally, then try and connect to an NS server through the built-in server browser?
Is you install path C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike\ns or something like that?

Now about your console problem,...well i have the same problem on DoD,and no other mods so i suggest u re-install NS...How many times does it crash,and after how many times did u try it,cuz i deleted my NS cuz i coudnt play it because it kept freezing when the screen is supposed to pop up...It worked 2-3 times in about 25 tries so i suggest u try...and try...and try...oh and btw changing resolutions might help!
last one...updating cs retail...you think this is worth it? here i go thx for the suggestions everybody (this is a big deal cause i got a 56k...it may take me a week to dl the patch)
