For my smallest sister: PS2 gamepd, PS2 memory card, Onimusha 3
For my third-eldest sister: nothing. She emigrated in September, and is busy. She couldn't make it.
For my second-eldest sister: Pikmin 2
For my eldest sister: some stupid book on the sasquatch
For my brother in law: book on hikes in New Zealand*
For my dad: special magnifying glass for looking at paintings etc.

*That might seem stingy compared to the others, but I gave him a whole load of stuff for his birthday, so I figure it's okay to get him something relatively cheap.

Well I was low on cash, because an Uncle of mine died recently and I put all my money into my mother's account so she could pay funeral services, so I didn't get to give the things I had planned on giving. Budget was $20 for one sibling, i spent $40 and got my sister a beanbag, so that's her birthday present as well =]

Teamed up [!] with my siblings and got my mum a back massager [sort of like a pillow for your back while you're sitting down, but it massages], and a book about the Israel vs Palestine conflict for my dad.

DVDs seemed to be the theme of this Christmas. Most members of my family are excessively hard to buy stuff for. My brother being young and successful has more money than sense and pretty much has bought everything that he could ever want, ontop of that, he made a 70k profit on selling his house, so that pretty much paid for anything he didn't have. My parents either give no hint what they want, have no likes or dislikes, and are indifferent as a whole. The only person i had a really big choice of things to buy was my girlfriend, but financial restrictions seemed to block me there. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' />

For my sibilings: Money. We kinda have an unspoken, yet mutal agreement to give eachother the same amount of money so we all end up exactly where we started. We are teh lazy

I'm a big believer in 'giving what I know is good':
<ul><li>Tool - Lateralus for my father. I inherited my love for rock from him, so it was an easy enough choice.</li><li>Musical tickets for my mother. Teamed up with my sister and my mother's boyfriend for that one.</li><li>Neil Gaiman's 'Coraline' for my sister. We have that dispute about whether fantasy literature can mean anything.</li><li>China Mieville's 'The Scar' for the aunt at whom's house we celebrated. One of the other two fantasy nuts in the family, I was certain she'd enjoy that one.</li><li>A jazz CD for my uncle, her husband. The man's the typical case of 'Already has everything he needs.', so I tend to fall for easy solutions.</li></ul>
