<div class="IPBDescription">beta 6 leakage</div> okay, this is a bit odd.
i have one guy telling me beta 6 is out.. and 3 times in one hour ive got three messages with 2 different URLs to places where you can get beta 6..

am i wrong to say that beta 6 is not out yet?
I'm loyal to UE, thus I'm not partaking in downloading any of these.. so is there any way that the staff or someone can remedy the situation?
If a mod contacts me, i can give one of the links, i lost the other without logs :/

There is an internal Constellation beta being released right now, anyone can download it , if for some reason someone gives them the link, however only constellation members are able to play it.

I saw the same thing. If only Consties can play it, that's good. I already sent Nem an e-mail about it. XD

It's limited to players whose steamIDs authenticate as PTs or Constellation members. So downloading and installing it would only waste your time anyway. You'd end up with a version of b6 that you can't do anything with.

Since we have no NDAs, I may as well disclose this message, posted in the constie forum last friday, before B6 was released.

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Some time in the next days, we'll release a specially prepared version of Beta 6 from this forum. The file will contain both client and server files. 'What', some of you will now wonder, 'will keep me from... Umm... Redistributing it to my friends without Constie access, then?'.

The answer to this purely hypothetical question: Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Anyone who gets the Beta build can start servers, connect to them, the whole jazz - but unless that player's autheticated with the database, (s)he won't be able to play: The build checks your auth parameters, and if you don't fit them, you'll be kicked out. This way, we hope to offer your the maximum in flexibility without of compromising our security.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    Wow, that's pretty smart.

In Sven Co-Op, you can modify the dll and edit the steamids so you could get the electric crowbar.

Yet it is possible to forward all requests made to a private database. However nobody knows how it works nor where it's located.

Playing on servers with consties only has been so much fun. Ive had some of the best games of NS since I started back in 1.0. Ive come to realise that Its not the game its self that has degraded through the versions, rather the average standard of player. I donated my $20 simply as a thankyou for the fun NS had given me and to acknowledge the teams hard work. I now feel like donating again <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

And even better, people who download B6 from those links will be downloading many more versions since this is not B6 final.. it's a candidate, there will almost assuredly be many more versions as we continue to balance.

So if someone wants to spend the time to d/l the package over and over again and not be able to play it, then that's their perogative I guess....

I was on that game! the rines got sieges up at our hive, and we managed only just to take them out. I think at one point the hive was at 20%, then we slowly took back the map, and finished it with a massive gorge rush!

Sorry for the double post, but I have screenies of that match!

We held a hive at one point of the game, but we never held it for long:

The gorges might have not taken us out right away, but even after we repelled the rush they had done too much damage for us to make a comeback:

I think I dropped about 20 OCs during that game. In the pic of the four gorges rushing, I'm the one at the back!

I must give credit to wyzcrak from tactical gamer. He organised the whole gorge rush, and was in general great fun to play with. In the previous map under his command we shotty rushed 5 hives, although we went on to lose. It was some great NS
