Error..

hi.. I have a problem..

whenever i try join a game, as soon as it finishes connecting and it goes to open the game.. i get a blue screen error.. (the one where it dumps physical memory and reboots) ..

im using Windows XP..

    try run installing Counterstrike or Halflife, or whateva u use. and manually deleting any left over files. then re installing everything. make sure if you have CS Retail you make backups of your missing CS Retail maps.

    Does this also happen in HL/CS or is it only NS? IF only NS try and post anything relevant that you can. If it also happens in CS/HL completely uninstall /reinstall HL/CS and try it again if it still happens eliminate as many background programs as possible also make sure you turn off any anti-virus progs or software firewalls.

    no.. only NS.. im using Win XP pro.. no service pack..

    just as it goes to open the game i get the bluescreen..

    i disabled my sound card.. and it works.. so it is sound related..


    also with some editing to the sound card drivers.. i got it to work with sound.. so its all hunky dorey

    You need to enable your hardware sound and perhaps A3D via the HL config sound menu. This has been covered many times now. Learn the search button people. Or even look at the pinned topics in this forum area.
