Well, I installed HL, and installed NS (Yes, I installed it directly after HL), but once all was un-encrypted and done, this error message went up:
(Header) Miles error
The MSS file is installed in the Windows or Windows system directory - it must be installed in the application directory.
Now then, I have searched through my windows directory, and not found the said .dll; albeit, I'm not the best of Windows users, and an installer probably got it delted at some time or another; I'm pretty careful about what I download virus-wise, and keep Norton's real-time scan on constantly.
I've donloaded a mss32.dll (4.0.0.0), but no matter which windows/*app* (ie. any folder with application in its name), it wont load, or get recongnised. System restore isn't an option, and I'd prefer not to re-install Windows.
Thanks for your time and help.

so drop that DLL in your: my@email.net/half-life directory
edit: make sure the DLL version is 6.0m, and if you still have problems with missing files the delete the half-life folder and let Steam redownload everything for you.
