Just get armor and welders for god's sake.
Why do you think skulking is easier than shotgunning? It takes way more skill to be a succeful skulk than a shotgunner IMO. Look at the top scorers of most servers: a marine will usually have a 3:1 k:d ratio or better. The best of skulks rarely get beyond 2:1. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

And that
Hell, everything dragonmech said pretty much sums it all up. If you allow the opposing team to become insanly powerful and able to rip you apart when you are still on lvl 2, then you will only lose anyways. The skill is obviously on that specific team and they would win without focus or shotguns. In my opinion shotguns and focus are the same, hell, shotguns may even be better. A good shotgunner vs a good focus skulk, then the shotgunner will win more often than not. Reading some peoples posts about how aliens are impossible to kill with focus, well you let them get that way, if you cant kill any alien with focus alone then you aren't very good anyways. Shotgun lvl 3 can solo any alien if you're good enough. And btw a skulk with over 10:1 ratio is a pro vs a hell of a lot of people playing their first game of NS, its not that hard to even get a lucky shot on a skulk.

That fade might be able stop him singlehandedly, but then he isn't spending much time harassing other marines, so they can push to the hive.
While you can argue that 10 minutes is too short for a combat game, any game that has several players reaching level 10 is too long.

focus is not overpowered in any way. It just depends on the situation. Like in CO.
in my opinion, focus = sg. u just need skill. now some ppl say focus fade is better than shotgun and i agree. but focus fade takes 5 pts. so obviously a 2 pt marine wif his shotgun would lose. Just give him 3 extra points and they are on the same lvl. Same with NS map. One focus fade will definately kill one shotgunner. But take five shotgunner vs 1 fade, see what happens. 5 SG = 1 fade in res.

If they have that in under 30 seconds of game time then I truly worry for your regular server.
You will not beat a fully teched alien. A low level alien will not beat a fully teched marine. It is that way because the game NEEDS to end, so the better team will easily crush the lesser.
As myself and others have suggested, try countering them early as opposed to trying to claw back a win against end game aliens. Otherwise your point is laughable, and belongs in the graveyard with such fine strategy threads as "Aliens have 5 Onos, all chambers, and 3 hives, ogm how do I win??!?!?"
