<div class="IPBDescription">Includes ingame screenshots</div> I kind of hijacked a thread in the mapping forum (naughty) with this 512x512 version of wall_lab I'm making. Thought it would be best to make a seperate thread for it.
Original version of Wall_lab:
<img src='http://img73.exs.cx/img73/3944/walllaboriginal8bv.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
This is the latest update to the texture. This is the one seen ingame. I actually really like this version, because it looks more metallic. The previous versions were rather washed out.
<img src='http://img105.exs.cx/img105/7329/walllabcopy7qh.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Tada!
<img src='http://img148.exs.cx/img148/6757/lab18rm.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Metal properties in action..
<img src='http://img142.exs.cx/img142/4818/labshoot5kd.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Normal mapping. (Note how the bolt looks 3D) Image brightened up a bit.
<img src='http://img142.exs.cx/img142/7569/normal6jh.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
edit:
Oh yes, there is also specular mapping, which reflects the cubemaps and gives the texture a slight metallic sheen to it, but its only really noticeable when moving.

That's awesome work man. Please do keep it up. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I don't think this texture needs to be this big. Just double the original resolution, as I think the detail in this one isn't that necessary (you're not going to go around staring at the ground). Very sexy work by the way. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
edit: er, whoops
edit2: wow, I suck
And I heard you the last time you said that ssjyoda. Twice.
I would be happy to share them with the community.

By the way, does HL2:Source handles the transparency the same way as in HL ?
Pure Blue=transparency region ?
I had to change that color so Max handles it ok.
In the mean time, I'll set up the transfer of my textures and PM you with the details.

I zipped what I have done so far. It's a 49Meg Zipped file with over 280 files in it. I don't have diskspace on a server to put it in. I have access to a web mail with attachment of 50Meg max.
^^ Seconded... wondering...

I wanna start mapping myself for source, but i can't seem to find a good idea for a map
One things sure, i'll try mapping for NS:S once it's coming along better
Keep up the great work !
<span style='font-size:7pt;line-height:100%'>(and convince the dev team to really make NS:S)</span>
NS 3.0 has to finished first...
but all i can say is one thing.... darkati is gonna have something stuck up his poop shoot if he doesn't stop mapping like a genious lol.
keep on ur work!
How exactly are you re-making the textures?
I'd like to see what some of the control panel textures look like...
EDIT: I'd like to help out with this. I have Photosop 7, and a drawing tablet.
Any tips or links to helpful tutorials would be very appreciated.
That space used for it was supposed to be temporary. I must know so I can clear it out.
