<div class="IPBDescription">Do i need to active it?</div> Do i need to activate the "fast" mode of my connection to see a better latency on out server?

we have a power server, with a 1280 line, but we ping too much ~120ms. we are behing a router and the line is not in fast mode.

Thanks for any suggestion.

lol your behind the same router as the server and your getting a 120+ ping? wow you have some serious network issues. check your sv_lan_rate on the server and your network card settings.

No the router is in he same small city.

Does the server usually use a "fast mode" connection?

i think your english is a bit poor, i really dont understand what "fast mode" is.

your only going to get the bandwidth out of the line that is provided by your isp, you cant forcefully pump up the bandwidth on the internet connection from the router, you have to ask your isp for more bandwidth.

you could try doing a traceroute to your servers ip and see if there are any bad routers along the connection that are causing excessive lag.

your complaining about a 120 ping? lol thats low.

I think he would say "ADSL in fast mode". There are 2 modes for ADSL line, INTERLEAVED or FAST. Ther first make a CRC control on evry packet, then is more slow than FAST mode, which not implement CRC data control.

well CRC checks on all of the data seems to be a bottleneck, try changing it to fast mode and see if that makes a difference.

    Exactly.
Anyway we are going to move the server soon. The nex location will feature a HDSL line.
