<div class="IPBDescription">and the other end says I've overflowed</div> There have been times when I've been playing, and while I go to say something in my mic, all of a sudden I get a server disconnected error in my console. According to friends who are playing with me, they say that I overflow according to the server.
So far, I've seen 3 computers at my house reproduce this error. Usually it is more frequent when I talk more.
One of these computers was a friends who was Lanned up here for a day or 2, but when he got home, he never overflowed again.
The only reason I can think of this occuring is the fact that I'm behind a router. It's a Linksys Etherfast BEFSR41 router to be exact. I've opened up all ports, and even put my computer in the demilitarized zone, but I still get disconnects.
Also it's probably worth noting that I have successfully used my mic in CS for over a year and have yet to be booted, so I'm gonna guess it is mostly in NS, and not the Half-Life engine's fault.
If anyone else has had this problem, I'd like to hear about it and see if anyone has a possible fix.
Thanks,
E-Th33ph

and what was ur friend doing at ur house? LAN? connected to the internet or what?
I've yet to try out a computer directly plugged into my DSL line, but I find that I get disconnected sporadically. Often I can play for 3 hours without a disconnect, then have another one in 20 minutes. I know it occurs with more talking, but I don't want to talk somebody's ear off on a server just to try it out.
My friend had just brought his computer over and plugged in my LAN. He was able to play, but got the same overflow error. Since then, at his home connection he hasn't had it. I figured that helped nail it down to my router. The router does have a built in firewall, but I've got it on minimal settings and like I said, on other mods, voice over the internet never overflowed or disconnected.
