I Just finshed the most epic 81 minute game!!! (all in an aussie pub)
OK heres the jist of it, aliens had lost for the past 3 hours (no joke we got raped every game, time after time and i mean raped !) sadly i was on the alien team every time ! just hoping we would eventualy pull through.
Anyway this game everyone was fed up with res **** and the like so the cry went out for team work from the start the map ns_nancy.
The first 30 minutes was full of the usual push and tug play with the marines securing subspace hive and a few rps around the map. The marines tried to advance but the aliens beat them back a few times and set up a strong hold around subspace. The marines then relocated there, but this was no normal relocation.
To call it a strong hold is underestimating this place was a mega fortress !! From what i could see the marines had in excess of 8 ip's, 1 rp, 2/3 arms labs, 3/4 tf's about 6 CC's strategically placed to block the aliens onos rush and force them around the back where they would be met with a barrage of HMG HA GL and JP fire of course there was seige and SG fully upgraded weps and armour. The whole time gl's would pump the tunnel leading into the hive with grenades to prevent lerking and discourage rushing.
Anyway after a few failed rushes of the ordinary type the Aliens really had to band together and put our thinking caps on. With 10 ONo's 1 gorge (to get the hive up we could MC teleport into the hive) and a lerk for umbra the aliens tried time and time again to rush the Hive with no success ! Somehow the marines kept hanging in there, initially with HA then towards the end they all hadJP HMG and camped on the roof to avoid the oni rush !
This stalemate went on for 30 minutes !!! with the aliens unable to break the deadlock even with 10 onos !! and teleporting inside their hive we tried it all !! almost every combination to win !
in the end it was our ability to respawn and re-onos faster than the marines could re-equip themselves with jp hmg that won us the match, we rushed hard once then rushed again in quick succession and that broke the deadlock on one of the most enjoyable NS games ive ever had reminiscent of the B2 days ! But even in B2 ive never seen a stalemate quiet as bad as this one.
Anyway that game has just re-affirmed what i beileved about teamwork and how it makes for the best games. Because when the games hard you HAVE to work as a team, Not only to win the game ! but so you can go to bed too !! its now 12am and i started playing at about 5pm !!! what an epic sesh, took sum really good screenies but duno how to post them here becoz there not on an url.
Anyway have a good 1 ppl

anywho, congrats on the win.
That seemed to me like a long drawn out alien win, but you and I both know that those can be really fun at times

It was hard to get all the onos in simply because we couldnt all fit down the passageway at once.

Biggest number I've ever had was 4... but then again, I don't play on 12vs12 servers! Up to 8vs8, and it becomes chaotic enough.
Wow, that sure must have been one great game.
Sukit.
u just get to the business end of the game and it ends ! give us 15 mins at least
I have only experienced fun back in 2.01, but CO wrecked that all. I envy you now, because of that game. That must've been an extremely fun game...

Fortunatly for that game i chose the fade !
yeh its a shame long games are so rare these days rather than the norm. still 80 minutes isnt even that long by b2 standards, by then the marines probably controled a hive and were only just begining to make progress on the second.
