flying skulks
Has anybody else seen the thing with skulks where if you look up and pounce multiple times you can fly until you run out of energy? Is this a bug or a feature? Whichever, it's pretty dang cool.

Uhh.. I'm confused. Do you mean LERK? Or are you saying that if you jump a bunch-o-times you can fly w/ skulk? Weird..

That's a good one - it started out as a bug, but Flayra thought it was so cool it became a feature. Sort of a 'super leap'.

I use it all the time. I can haul alien **obscenity** down hallways. The only problem is I need level 3 adrenaline to do it for very long, and it's not stealthy at all (SCREECH, SCREECH, SCREECH, SCREECH).
    So much fun, though

Yeah, i found it kind of odd that i could make a 90° turn in midair with leap. Cool though.

The leap has many uses and this expands its use, not only does it allow death defying acrobatics when trying to move around the map, but it also allows you to quickly close to attack.

The best use of leap is to leap at your target (preferably not head on) then switch to bite in mid-air and chomp away. If you're really good, you can aim high with the leap, and just before you hit the marine you chomp him to death, and because he no longer counts for collision you leap passes right through him and you can run to safety.

Yeah on Tanith (I think) in the Storage Room you can get from the floor to the ceiling in 3 SCREECHs. That's pretty fun.

I love throwing adrenaline on and screech flying through the marine base before switching to xenocide kersplattering a couple of marines.

Is leap like charge and you do damage to whatever you're hitting while flying? Or do you have to connect at the end of a leap (when the claws come out) ? I never got it to work.

You can turn in midair in all HL games. Since HL is based off Quake 1 or 2 (not sure which, I think it's a mix of both, but I'm not sure.) You can turn in midair. This allows air control, and bunnyhopping. Bunnyhopping in HL causes you to go much faster than you should be able to. An HW Guy in TFC can move at a Medic's running speed by bunnyhopping.

Getting rid of bunnyhopping and air control in HL is impossible. The only way to fix bunnyhop is with things like stamina meters, CS's anti-bhop thing (which is basically a stamina meter without graphic representation anyhow.). You'll notice you can still do the bhopping motion, but you'll go practically nowhere with systems like these. In Rtcw, you cannot bunnyhop. As soon as you start the 2nd strafing motion, it stops you from going anywhere instantly. But you can strafe jump

    Enough rambling.
