- I knew how far along in development it is and how much longer till it's release
- Detailed description of how the game would be compared to the current NS (New features, changes, etc.)
- Screenshots would be a big plus ++
- Do I get a t-shirt, pen, pin, coffee mug, stuffed skulk? (j/k) <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I think that 25$ is not much to pay for what I gained so far out of NS. And if this small amount can help you make NS2, sure. I've given more for a whole lot less before - hell, we've all done it at least twice last year (remember the latest **** game you payed 50 bucks for?).
Hey, check this lad out, he registered on the forums especially to post in this thread. Doesn't that make you feel all warm inside? Some people care enough about the future of NS to go though the rigmarole of signing up, just to vote in a poll.

Now, i am an NS addict, so would pay anyhow, but think about this a moment. We would be investing in this, so should get something back, or be allowed to contribute to the game. This may be just as simple as very early playtesting.
Or, following good programming usability, user-centred design / radical programming or whatever the conept is called! , actively engaging and involving the users (gamers) i.e. us, in ALL aspects to the game. - probably means more than just having a forum on suggestions though. Probably would take more work, and possibly more time than the old despotic style of development, but would give the investors some sense of ownership, and if the theory is right, would lead to a much better end product. A direct voice in the development of the game would not be a bad thing, it wont cost (as we will pay!) it just requires some brains & a will to do it.
and 2, by involving us early on, we would be paying for this involvement from square one, so we wouldnt really be complaining about a waste of money, if it goes down the pan. But defininately get some legal advice.
A CD/Box would be nice, but download only is perfectly fine <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->.
Thanks for all your input guys, it was very helpful.
We're not ready to announce anything about this yet, but it's something we are considering. It's clear we have to figure out how it fits in with the Constellation program as well as UWE investors, but this could be viable for us.

So worth it.
Any detailed points I might have been made will have been said already, so I'll keep it short.
