    That's paraylze, from 1.x. You could fire it at a marine, and they wouldn't be able to move, but they could still fire. I don't know which hive that weapon went with, because you needed 3 hives to have an onos.

    That was the hive 2 weapon, actually.

    Also, I have no idea why it would change to paralise (it's happened to me though), because xeno is slot 4, and the logged bug says that it changes to the slot X (where X is what weapon slot you had) weapon on the alien you're spectating.

    Seriously why is that still in the game? Aren't those one of those cosmetic glitches from the way-back days? Like the marine noises in a relocated marine spawn?

    yup-some of em are still there though. (i still hear those marine sounds sometimes)

    I just remember Great Viaduct... JPs flitting around near the catwalk, then an Onos comes in and tags one. Watching it fall and *SPLAT* on the floor.
    For new players, this was before JPers received falling invulnerability.

    As mentioned, it's the parylyze ability. This bug is fixed in beta6, courtesy of yours truly (The old weapons models appeared when spectating and when playing, spikes showed on lerks and acid rocket showed on fades, as well as parylyze). Just match up old weapons and their slots with new weapons and their slots when speccing and you'll often see old models in the place of the correct models.

    The random welding sound is obviously from someone welding somewhere on the map, not sure why it appears in random locations though (it happens in classic as well as combat).

    I'm pretty sure grep found out how to reproduce and fixed this one...

    And yeah, seeing those things is just one of the spectating bugs that affects pretty much all the aliens.     I still prefer old Fade blink tho. If it were ever possible to make it 100% sure you dont get stuck in a wall it should be put back in.

    MMmm sounds like NS is built like my PCs personal filing system, old bits eveywhere.
