    NS was never released prior to the final 1.0 release (no betas). I'm not too sure as to where you can download ns 1.0(4) though.

    Good luck. As I recall, 1.04 will only really be playable on a LAN any more, given the amount of work that went in to bring 3.0bX up to Steam-compatability. With the WON servers down, it'll be relegated to LANparties and the occasional retro tournament.

    Or possibly to be used as a personal flagellation system, as it makes my eyes bleed with pain.

    Take off the rose tints, see how ugly that world was, eh Talesin? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Or you could just download Bry's 1.04 version which has been updated for use with Steam.
    Although I think you need the dedicated server software which Bry isn't freely distributing.

    Actually, I more want an updated 1.03... y'know, when MT was still broken, so the Marines still had a degree of fear-factor. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Perhaps he's talking about the mapping release (so maps could be made for the release), the one where nothing works except the ingame particle editor.

    i think there is a way to put up a won server ...
    there are cs 1.5 won servers you just have to connect manually as the won index is down

    (correct me if im mistaken but i heard this from various people)

    Yea ive made a 1.04 installer for steam. theres still a few few minor errors which i am fixing atm (just a few non imp missing files) but otherwise it works fine.

    You may download it <a href='http://www.brywright.co.uk/downloads/files/index.php?dir=natural-selection/install/old_versions/&file=ns_v1.04-steam-Bryns.exe' target='_blank'>here</a>
    this can be used both for a server and for the client.

    Run switch.bat to enable 1.04 and run it again to enable ns 3.0. The reason for this is both installs need to use the 'ns' folder and so switch.bat is a small file made to auto rename the folders.
    please though make sure you have a fresh install of the latest ns. As the old steam installer for 1.04 used the ns folder by default and when b5 was released this caused their to be 2 installs. While not a problem generally it will mess up the included switch.bat

    p.s. if the link appears to go down then it is because i am currently moving to a new webhost and the nameservers need to propagate to the new host.

    p.p.s. we will be running a new steam 1.04 weekend soon <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
