Updated for beta 6. Lots of sweat and long nights have gone into this. So let me know what you think. For those of you who don't need a manual, you can mess around with the damage calculator.

I am a huge fan of this manual.. I also read it even though I'm not new..
Good job Niteowl.. You r0x0r my b0x0rs...
Of note though is that if you can't see the blue or grey behind "Marine" and "general", respectively, at the top, your monitor might be set to dark. (I noticed that when looking at it on my lab computer just a while ago which is quite dark for some reason.) Nothing that detracts from the information though.

That's been tweked a bit, see if ti's still a problem bigd.
esuna offered to pretty it up, so it doesn't look like it was made by a programmer.
see note above. a fella will gussy it up soon. Design, and look and feel, I know, is not my strong suite <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'll double check that error, and thanks for bug report.

also, this is a pretty freakin awesome guide. it'd be cool if it was included in the b6 release.
I dont know bout b6 but in b5 you need an ip before u can build a pg.
Other than that: I want a sticky for this in the new player forums.

Well I'll be hogswaggled, yer right <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> You DO need an IP to research phase tech. I'll update the manual (FYI, you don't need an IP to drop PGs once you have phase tech, just need them for the PG research).
my second double post... sorry

Dont get me wrong, i love it really, i just ment that it needs more of a nice GUI with a bit of NS feel GUI to it, i love the Manual itself, it just had the look of a 1990's progrmmer worklog, it needed/needs the TLC of a person to spurce it up visualy, which Esuna is doing, but i do like it, and yes, Niteowl >me...
<3Niteowl Good Work
Ps: the Skulk picture and the Jet pack wearing marine are not the best poses imo, the Jp looks like he has a sore knee and the skulk looks like he's doing a piruet.
*sniff*
that's the nicest thing.. anyone has ever said! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> i'm a programmer, obviously.
And even though I don't know design, I still know it looks like the manuals has been gone over by an ugly stick. Help is on the way <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
- adding to the siege turret < special ability > : incredible splash damage, will blast any lower lifeform in the same room of the target into the afterlife; don't expect to spawn safely in a hive under attack by this baby
few notes:
- i don't recall aliens being able to regenerate their life every second without regen
- ocs prefer players over structures?, is that true?, if it is - it doesnt always work, eg the other day i was taking out ocs that a gorge was using to kill a restower and they didn't fight back
comments:
- very good manual
- i don't know what all you people are talking about in terms of it not looking good, i think its sexeh <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Not in version B6.. that's been changed and the manual reflects the new version.

It's much better than it used to be.. Niteowl has spent a significant period of time working on it, and I suspect it will pay off for him.
Oh, no, it was fugly. It's like it was written by some middleware programmer on his teim off or something. Functional, but made your eyes bleed.
It's not so fugly now.
Each content area will have it's own file, and the tenative naming structure will be
name of html file_name of title_rownumber.htm
So, for example, you are translating the skulk, uses. the file would be named:
alienClasses_skulk_row9.htm
I'll add more as I make sure this architecture isgoing to pan out.
Thanks for all your enthusiastic offers to help translate folks!
Maybe that could be rewritten, if it's even necessary.
O_o UNBELIVEABLE o_O

Yeah the manual is pretty good. Covers all the basics. Keep up the good job.

NOTE: YOu should have a basic working knowldge of HTML if you want to do a translation, and you have to go through Zunni first (IIRC).
To quote mike myers "Groovy baby"
Completely shot down my wantings to (for some reason) create a short guide to just let players that want the basics and that it to get rolling in the game, well done.
... what did the old one look like?
