How Come My Offense Chambers Sometimes Get Owned..

I built a handful of offence chambers outside a doorway covered by 2 defense chambers, i did end up building more between the 2 doorways. and another couple of attack/def chambers and it blocked the whole left direction outta the marine base which is pretty good.
The marines unsprrisingly didnt like this, and ended building like 10 turrets and 6 seige turrets. It took the marines like 30 mins to get through my 8 turrets and 3 def chambers, which is pretty good.
They did break through in the end, some 30+ mins later, but by then i'd built another line of them a bit further down the hallway, where it tightens up to a walkway type thing. This one i had loadsa offense chambers and like 5 def chambers but the seige gun got through my offense chambers in a matter of mins, whereas my other place it took aaages.
8 offense chambers - 3 def chambers vs. 6 seige guns + endless turrets + loadsa marines = 30+mins held
-against-
10 offense chambers (or more than previos pos) + 5 def chambers vs. 1 seige gun = 5 mins lasting.
Thats about it really, just dont understand how come my first wall lasted that much longer against loadsa seige guns, turrets, marines etc whereas my 2nd wall was better defended but was taken out by just 1 seige gun =/

(And since the chambers were so nicely placed, no aliens died from the siege turrets. yay!)
Edit: Also, there's a lot of other variables, the siege turrets could've been firing at something that was closer sometimes, or maybe you're teammates took down the turret factory for awhile.
And no, I have seen nothing to indicate that this has anything to do with stacking - I have seen it happen to both stacked and unstacked chambers.
So, that it took 30 minutes to clear the first obstruction was most probably due to a super chamber that was finally taken out by hand. The 5-minutes-to-clear is the usual for a siege cannon against what you describe - I think an offensive chamber is about 3 shots, 15 seconds for a siege cannon.

However the devs do know about this (It has been brought up many times)
As a side note, anything above 3 deff chambers is pointless b/c they do NOT heal faster, it is specificly stated that they platoue out at 3, so it is not the case that I build 20 deff chambers and they will live for ever (b/c again only 3 will heal any one thing at once)
