hmm, from what I can understand you want to spawn sentry turrets in CO with sv_cheats 1 ?

I honestly don't know if that is plausable without going to mod ns and running a server with mucho plugins. I know that placing an OC will cause the server to crash, but I'm not to sure about marine buildings, and I've never actually tried to do that in CO, just NS

I would wait for someone who has more of a concrete answer.

You mean we are going to get COMBAT mode AND TURRETS FARMS, omg this is going to be so SWEET. All those spawn camping skilless n00bs will not be able to sit there and spawn camp us next to the CC!

I also think onos should be cheaper to counter the turrets. WIthotu 2 point pwnos it will be WAY unbalanced. And the Jump packs should cost more points, like 4. The **** always rush into the hive and dont even try to kill the spawning aliens, its lame. Or all gorges should get web at 1st hive.

OMG i someOne maek this pluginn!!!

okay I've noticed some people coming down with a condesending attitude over dudes plan to MAKE HIS OWN SERVER AND MOD IT HIS OWN WAY. Repect everyone at all times, I would go link to the rules page, but everyone should have already seen it.

if your making a snide comment on turrets in CO, don't even bother posting. If you know of plugins / commands to place structures in co, please fire away.

mwahaha

why dont we just unlock every option in the game and make stuff like

mp_unchained
sv_104abilities
sv_marinebhop
sv_recycleblock

?

there are some good plugins, yes, those that dont change the gameplay but provide minor aesthetic help. like showres, show chamber amount and hive percentage.

making a server is one thing, making a server that teaches totally different style of play is an insult to the community and dev team.

That's a bit extreme I believe. For as long as half life has had mods, mappers & modellers and plugin coders have provided numerous options to the countless server ops and players who want something a little bit different. No harm has been done, and if you find this idea or any other offensive, simply don't play there.

A new plugin was recently released on modNS.org called Combat Turretfarms which may be exactly what tulioanjos wants.

While I personally would not play on any maps like that, I think it's ridiculous to insult others for playing on those maps. People don't always want to play a serious game, and it seems to me that maps like that would be great for nonserious gameplay.

One man's meat is another man's poison they say.
Just because you may not like a particular map doesn't qualify it as "crappy".
Obviously many people enjoy playing on custom maps who have grown bored with the stock mapcycle.

because you dont have to spend 5 hours using ripent and getting the locations of where you want the turrets to spawn, you can spawn them on the spot in the game.

how to add a turret for team 1 with entmod, and start built

e_add turret:origin:%HERE%:teamchoice:1:spawnflags:1

deciphering the command

e_add AAAA:BBBB:CCCC

the entmod command to tell entmod to add something in the map

field AAAA

the entity name, can be any precached entity in the map

field BBBB

a specific key of the entity, you can define as many as you need to

field CCCC

the keyvalue of the key before it (in this case field BBBB)

fields BBBB and CCCC must be in that order, or it will mess things up. you can add more keys to the entity as long as the keys have keyvalues in front of them.

you need to have an extensive knowledge of the hl engine and the way it works to be able to use entmod without using refrences. this includes keyvalues of entities, keys, entity lists (fgd's)

if you would like me to show you entmod in action, drop me a line on aim, and we can goto my server and play around with entmod.

I disagree with your statement. It’s the spirit of customization.

Even as I don’t like siege maps but there are many people out there enjoying playing them and so it’s fine with me.

Even as I don’t like custom models but many people like to give their NS a fresh look and enjoy the game more and so it’s fine with me.

To think that your opinion is worth more than others opinion looks arrogant (and is an insult to the community and dev team ).

I installed the Combat Turretfarm-plugin on my NS servers and i must say it brings fresh air into combat gameplay.

Combat is for me a NS fun game mode.

<Flayra> You have to play the game the way the game is, not the way you want the game to be. I don't know why so many people can't understand that.

@GiGaBiTe: You're giving ripent a bad (undeserved) rap. From what you've shown me entmod is much more involved. FFS, I can convert a cs or tfc map to combat in under an hour, and that's adding a LOT of extras like the clan banner's sprite and a readyroom mp3. To add a turretfactory and 4 turrets to any given map I guarantee would be quicker with ripent.

Regardless, try the plugin I mentioned in an earlier reply.

im not giving ripent a bad name. ripent is for use if you want to make a permanent entity change to the map. entmod it like playing with legos, there are special entmaps that you can make buildings, cars, trains and other stuff with. i have made a couple of entmaps and i play around on them from time to time.

before you diss entmod, fire up a game of tfc and look for some entmod servers.
