Some said it's a definitive OAV
The Vision of Escaflowne.
IF there is an unbastardized version, not the one from Cartoon Network.
Love Hina
Ghost in the shell
Last Excile
Seen Macros Plus (many times)
Chobits just got put on my list <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
And what I have seen of Escaflowne I never realy liked (it was a fan sub, not the CNetwork)
EDIT: How about Metropolis.
Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi Universe, Tenchi in Tokyo, Tenchi Muyo GXP, Tenchi the Movie: Tenchi Muyo! In Love, Tenchi The Movie 2: Daughter of Darkness, Tenchi Forever: Tenchi Muyo in Love 2. The Tenchi set is a fun comedy. The first 3 start the story over in new ways and have different adventures. GXP is set after the others.
Princess Mononoke, and Sprited Away if you haven't seen them.
I second seeing Love Hina, Love Hina Again: The Movie, and Love Hina: Spring Movie.
Also Ghost in the Shell, Standalone complex, and GiTS2:Innocence.
I haven't seen Full Metal Panic! but from the first 2 manga volumes it looks pretty good. Action
Also Lain but that is not action or fast paced.
And good for you adding Chobits <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
as a note:
I have seen a decent amount of mainstream anime (I live in NYC and thus see them when they first show up, I saw metroplis, Jin Roh, and a few others in the theater)
I have seen almost all of Miyazaki's stuff (the few things I havn't seen they don't have on netflix, like porco roso).
oh well, hopefuly inf will find sometihng realy cool on the list <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Ninja Edit at Vahn's Post:
Akira: seen
Paranoia Agent? hmmm mabey (don't realy like mind ****s, specialy if they have no real point to them)
What I have seen of Tenchi I didn't like, I might give it another go (it has been a few years)
Mononoke I own, Spirited away I saw in the theaters
Love Hina I am working my way through (I love it)
I have seen all of the GitS stuff (well, only about 1/2 of 2nd gig fansubed)
Seen full Metal Panic, I am thinking on nabing the latter ones (alchamist is related to it, right?)
And what I have seen of Lain I didn't like that much (to much, "Hey look our anime makes no sense!")
Again, thnak you for ideas <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Part of my asking for help is my lack of will to wade through the massive amounts of DBZ, Tenchi, and Inuyasha they have listed.
Spring Movie almost made me cry. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Well, actually it didn't. But I felt like I could. I just don't cry very often. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
[EDIT:] That means that it's really good.
[EDIT 2:]
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->And what I have seen of Lain I didn't like that much (to much, "Hey look our anime makes no sense!")<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Bingo. It doesn't get better in the later episodes, either. It's all "OMGZ LOL LOOK AT ME I R NONSENSE!!"
The latest TV series are worth taking a look at, and fansubs are readily available. For example, I would recommend <a href='http://anidb.ath.cx/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=2533' target='_blank'>this</a>.
It's come a long way since it started more than 15 years ago... <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
And yes, it does have to be on Netflix, I am lokoing for things to add to my queue, and I just hapen to wana add anime atm <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I am also working on Survival Horror (ZOMBIES!) and old HK movies <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Also ANYTHING by studio ghibli and I do mean anything ^^
Porco Rosso, Howl's moving castle, Laputa: Castle in the sky, Princess Mononoke, etc
In the unlikely event they have it the new appleseed rocks too, even though they took one or two liberties with the story and stuff <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Glancing over the list you should maybe try Ah/Oh my godess as it's fun and if they have it 'You're under arrest' is good too ^^
And what I have seen of Lain I didn't like that much (to much, "Hey look our anime makes no sense!") <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Full Metal Panic, Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu and the upcoming Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid (airing Fall 2005 I think) have NO relation to Full Metal Alchemist. They have NOTHING to do with each other. The name similarity is a coincidence, to steal a line from FMP's own Sagara Souske.
Lain may be confusing, but it takes a lot of interpretation to get. Ton's of Japanese cultural information that most of us don't know is embedded into it. Just like I only recently realized the symbolism of Frogs relating to Ninjas in Japanese Mythos in Naruto, this show requires an open mind.
You may hate it, and I don't blame you for it, but to make sense of it takes a concerted effort. If you don't want to have to do that, hey that's cool, but don't think the anime is a total load of BS though, cause it has it's own reasoning. It took me forever to understand what little of it I know now.

I don't know what's on Netflix and I can't be sure so I will steal one of my old random lists of stuff I've seen with my ratings on it. I hope some of these are on the site. I can't remember everything I've seen so if I remember any more I'll add it.

very good stuff
very funny, fighting and dragons ^^
only one filler episode
semi tragic ending
Last Exile - A good series which starts out slow, but the last few episodes really bring it together (25min x 26eps)
Azumanga Daioh - If you're after comedy this is it. It's light-hearted and you only require a minor appreciation of japanese culture to get some jokes (A booklet is also included with each DVD explaining references.) (25min x 26eps)
Irresponsible Captain Tylor (TV Collection) - I watched this recently and I was quite suprised. It is a superbly well written story as well as having excellent comedic timing. The last episode makes it all worth while. HIGHLY recommended. (25min x 26eps)
RahXephon - Evangelion done right is an easy way to describe it. If you enjoyed Evangelion, you should enjoy this a lot more. It's easier to attach to the characters and the action is padded out so you hardly get bored. (25min x 26eps)
Patlabor WXIII - One of my all time favourite movies. Not only because it's Patlabor, but because it's hardly set in the Patlabor universe at all (Ummm basic premise of Patlabor is 2 story tall mechs policing the city as an actual police squad) This movie however deals with a detective story set in the Patlabor world. It's very well animated and all the little plot devices fit together nicely, though you will have to watch it a few times because you'll miss things. (Movie. Think it's close to 2 hours long)
That should start you off I think. Unless of course you do the obligatory ZOMG COWBOY BEBOP AND TRIGUN CAUSE THEY WERE ON ADULT SWIM!!!
I am also working on Survival Horror (ZOMBIES!) and old HK movies <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
I could probably help with the latter... <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
lol, I just laughed what I was drinking through my nose.
Macross Plus is very good.. as is Gundum 0083: Stardust Memories
Great Teacher Onizuka cannot be overlooked.. I had to drop $80 on the box set.
Love Hina is good too if you want to test the waters of cute anime
I would rent Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, because the DVD out now is horrible.. Just good enough to watch it especially if you're already a fan of GitS
Lain is good too. Can be confusing at times but provokes thought, but like Great Teacher it sheds some light in to the Japanese culture so that's enough to rent it.
Record of Lodoss. if you like lord of the rings then you might like this..
Anything Tenchi.. that series always had good character dynamics like Great Teacher or Love Hina
Did you watch the uncensored version that they are fansubbing now.?
<!--QuoteBegin-Thansal+--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (Thansal)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->yes, I know about fansubing, yes I do watch it, yes it is of questionable legality and sometihng that shouldn't be mentioned to much around here (mods don't like it)<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Actually, we can talk about unlicenced fansubs. I think Infinitum got permission for that.
Here's a <a href='http://www.animenfo.com/statistic/top.php?type=anime' target='_blank'>Top 200</a> from one site I go to. There are a lot of titles there that are not on Netfilx though.
If you mean Season two, well I've heard about that and no I don't think I will watch it uncensored, because I really don't like it when a perfectly tolerable anime takes that direction.
*EDIT*
o__________o
16 Onegai Teacher (2002)
<i>WHAT?!?</i>
That show shouldn't be anywhere near the top 50.
I got permission a while ago.

Heh Lunar got it from a TV station that censored it. The DVD version is out and it is uncensored now. All the steam and darkness is out and you get full nudity in like the first min of ep 1.<!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo--> I can't decide which is better, horrible over-the-top censorship but a cleaner show or no censorship but with over-the-top nudity.
I thought Onegai Teacher was decent.
As for Girls Bravo, I'm glad I saw the censored version then.
[EDIT:] And Noir! Definitely Noir. It's one of my favourites. (I'm rewatching it right now. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> )
/me pokes Gem
well duh on the Studio Ghibli stuff (I have seen almost all of it, and am infact rewatching it all with my Mum :P)
I saw Ah My Goddess, it depressed me (not realy sure why), I loved it, but it depressed me (the movie that is)
I have Seen FLCL, and as I have said, I hate the "oooo, look we make no sense" (and yes, I know, FLCL actualy makes compleat sense, however you REALY need to know Japanese cultrue, sometihng that I only know sorta)
@cold night, thanks I will be going through that :)
I might grab dragon drive (looks crapy, but sounds like it is fun :))
On that note: I LOVE CRAPY MOVIES! so long as they are fun! (I love cheasy action flicks, sapy romances, and silly comedies)
And Now for Inf's stuff, what I was realy waiting for :)
Last Exile: Added
Azumanga Daioh: Added, I love comedy, and I have a decent grasp on Japanese culture, unfortunatly I am not gona begetting the little book (I Always loved fansubs that explain the jokes :))
Irresponsible Captain Tylor: Added, what little I had seen of it looked to stupid for my tastes, but if you say it then I am kin to believe you.
RahXephon: My problem with Eva is that I can't stand the characters, and thus dislike the anime :P (added)
Patlabor WXIII: I have seen some of the stuff in the Patlabor universe (don't remember exactly what, was for an anime class/club thingy), liked that, and this sounds good :)
And I have seen Trigun, Bebop, and Outlaw start (bebop and trigun before CNetwork got me) :P
Yet again, thnaks Inf :)
I added
Record of Lodoss War (been meaning to see it, so thanks for the reminder :))
I have seen and love Noir :)
Thank you all!
I now have 73DVDs in my Queue (most of them mine :P).
If any one else has good stuff to post please do so!
oh, and Survival horror (the lesser known ones) and old HK films are also apreciated!
Again, campy dosn't matter, just fun! (one of my favorite zombie flicks is Bio Zombie)
