These will still work as foreward and back buttons after, but they will also work in games. Silly logitech.
Oh, and if anyone can work out if the scroll wheel rocking side to side is a function, let me know. It doesn't seem to do anything and i can't bind it in the logitech mouse tools. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> <a href='http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=420068' target='_blank'>Commence the tilt-wheel binding.</a> <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Sure, it's not fancy and comes only in a gray/black mixture, but it has 5 buttons, enough for me to have 1 attack slot bound to each, and since it's also corded(I can't stand cordless mice) my power never dies.
I've gone through many optical mice, with many brands. I see no difference between them, they all perform the same to my liking(Better than Mouse ball), I never get bad results. I'm sure if I got a very good optical mouse that was "made" for games, I wouldn't be impressed.
Hey thanks guys for the replies. So today, I went and bought a 510MX Logitech blue. The only thing that seems to be annoying me is that when I lift the mouse a few millimeters off my desk's surface due to workspace, the cursor still moves which can be a problem ingame. Other than that, I really like this mouse. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->:D
Also, being the mouse having 8 buttons, i would be able to script using "MOUSE5, MOUSE6, MOUSE7, etc" right?

I got the cheapest optical mouse i could find, an a4-tech or sumthin like that, and i don't have probs playin NS with it, not with any game tbh.... but i guess if you got sum extra money and nothin really usefull to spend it on, like savin for sum more RAM or GFX-card, you can spend it on a mouse...

I had a reflective Star Trech mouse pad when I got my first optical mouse. and right when I put it on it (due to the wierd relfecting habbits of the mousepad) my mouse went out of control and I got **** and went back to my ball for a couple weeks. then I finally tried it again and figured it out, so just make sure thats not happeing to you..... stupid star trech mousepads!
I have a Logitech minimouse optical, absolutely dirt cheap, but it gets the job done. PC isn't great, so I gte a bit of mouse lag when there are too many sprites on screen, which is a nightmare in CS with the smoke nades.

Maximum efficiency for minimal cost. I like it.

HL only reconizes up to MOUSE5
I have all my weapons expect slot4(not usually needed) bound to buttons on the mouse.
