I could've sworn I saw a post by Marik_Steele in this thread saying that he would merge all the "Marathon Trilogy is free!" threads, but then it mysteriously disappeared.

Yeah, you saw correctly. I saw Redford's had been locked when someone found a link to an older thread. Then I saw this one and thought "I'll merge it with Redford's and the older one." Then I laughed at my nublet self for not checking dates, because this is the "older" one.

I suppose I'll just merge the two now.

My god this game is hard (marathon 1). I never got to play these games so now I am, and reading the story, since that's the important part it seems

You'll come, over the course of the three games, to either love or hate Durandal. Me, I think that Durandal is the coolest AI featured in any game or movie ever. And no, I haven't left any of them out. You may think different, but you're wrong.
Utterly brilliant, utterly mad, utterly inscrutable, utterly resourceful, utterly contemptuous, utterly vengeful, utterly resilient...

SHODAN just doesn't compare to Durandal. She definitely gets second place, though.

    Marathon Mods!
    Dont forget the mods!
Rubicon and Evil are good, RED is also fun. Just try em out. Tempus Irae never did anything for me, and Return to the Marathon was a bit strange.

I liked the brain damage I got having never beaten any of the games, but making it very far in all of them.

So, which AI is on my side right now?

Very quality storyline, Bungie's why Halo rocked, despite getting nerfed.

Seriously, what on earth makes you people want to play these games with an old mac? Nostalgia? Hires textures, mp3 music, high resolutions, convenience and no slowdown > nostalgia, trust me.

edit: Not to mention internet multiplayer (but good luck getting Aleph One to work online, I would just use the UT mod).

Because Marathon runs very poorly on newer macs, and Aleph One uses a different physics engine than the original Marathon. In addition, on macs with widescreen, the marathon window is about the size of a quarter. Further, the M1 adaptation to Windows always ran poorly for me, not to mention the annoying POD reference in the beginning.

Bump for one click installers. I'll edit the first post to include direct links to all of the games for those of you who can't seem to navigate the trilogy release site.
