Building On The Ground Is So Passe

I have a new love of hiding o towers in really odd places. Climbing up to the tops of rafters with skulk or flying up with lerk then evolving back to gorge then building a blockade of o towers with d towers on top to heal. Who would think to look up to check for o towers. Not something you see everyday, that is a nice amount of o towers raining acid down on them there marines. The first thing a marine is gonna look for when they wlak into a room is enemys, second being o towers. Enemy's tend to hide so why not do it with o towers as well. And think of the posibilites. A squad of marines walks into a large chamber only to find acid raining down on them. Not alot of places they can retreat to considering boxes really wont help that are in the room. Back out the door they came in is a option, though only a few of them will be able to poke out a bit to fire at the o towers and the accompanying d towers will take care of that little damage. And think of how much of a **obscenity** it is actually getting a grenade to stay up on the rafters. Lol, more then likely the grenade is just gonna fall down again andcase some splash damage to said marines.
Also if there lookin up, that means there not looking behind them or in front of them. I haven't tested this part yet, though I assume it's possible. If your still up top with your new blockade and your team has 3 hives, drop some babblers down while your up there to give them even more to worry about.
Omg, now I want to go home so I can try that babbler bit.
Just remember, being a critter you can get to come of the craziest spots to build so be creative.

Absolutely. For example, tucking defense chambers in out-of-the-way places is actually a pretty good idea (until siege cannons rip them apart).
If I'm gorge and see a dark shady corner or find somewhere that's not visible from the normal path of travel, I'll put a defense chamber or two there. Aliens running around the map can benefit from a sudden healing burst, especially in the middle of a fight.
It'll also give the siege cannons lots of targets. If they're firing on one cluster of defense chambers for half the game, you can go ahead and build just about anything anywhere without being harassed by the cheese-cannon. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Completely off the subject of odd placement, I'd like to talk alittle about how to actually build towers. More ties then not, I tend to see gorges putting up towers and actually holding the sue button thw whole time in order to get them up. As the teams builder, this can slow you down. As a rule of thumb, place 1 or 2 towers (O) protecting the hive, then leave while they build themselves and go place either more towers down farther from the hives or more resource towers. Also, the only buildingd you really want to sit and help them grow are blockades close to the enemy's attck route. If your under fire or in a heavy marine traffic area, then it's time to get them up as quick as posible, hense helping them grow. It's just a waste of time to sit and build a whole tower when there's plenty of scouting or building elsewhere that you could be doing. So learn to multi-task.
