<div class="IPBDescription">I was bored</div> I was bored and decided that I'd give Sid a bit of a surprise, so in a few hours tonight, I modeled this thingy based off this concept he has on his site: <a href='http://stupidsid.250free.com/weaponconcepts/HorDrumJ.JPG' target='_blank'>Here!</a>
I'm not sure exactly what it was (Sid wasn't either), and nothing was specified, so I made it into a 20 round, .50 caliber SMG with a Sten-style side clip. It's not quite as detailed or as refined as the Avro Type 16, but I'm still happy with the finished model.
It has 1760 polygons (yes, triangles for those wondering), and is pretty much finished - I know it could be improved (it's too blocky), but I was kind of in a hurry, and the drawing wasn't too detailed, so I just went with what I had. Modeled and rendered in Rhinoceros, in about 4 hours.
Comments/criticisms/etc. are welcome, though I can't guarantee action based on them. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Comments
edit** I'd add a bit more detail to the clip too.
front part of the gun is nicely detailed, but at the middle its really lacking detail
so with some fixing on the buttstock, buttugly atm, it would fit the idea.

You are exactly right, Hellspawn.
The stock is supposed to be used with the Heavy Armour - you know - the big shoulder pads and whatnot?
And thanks so much LaserBeams for this wonderful surprise!! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Whenever I see one of my concepts in 3D it's like.. "Woah! :o"
And to answer your question, yes it does want me to make more Concepts... each time I try to make a more unique concept which I put more and more work into.
My Favourite part of Concepting is putting it on the NS forums and listening to everybodies suggestions and feedback - which makes the drawing "evolve" in such a way... it's like everyone helps me make it. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
P.S. Drake, I miss ya man - you're a great concept artist! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
