Heal Those Hives!

<div class="IPBDescription">Gorges should read!</div> I've yet to see another gorge do this.

When we aliens hear 'Our hive is under attack!' or 'Our hive is Dying!' they rush right there.

But once the menace is taken out, what happens? They all run back! Even the gorges! Why is it that people assume just because it's not under attack it's good?

As a marine, I have an easy time taking out hives... I'll assault it, get it sagging badly (Near death), die... wait a bit, come back, and it's still sagging! Why don't gorges ever take time to heal the hives after they've been attacked?

There needs to be a hit circle on the hive to tell you the truth...

I'd love to play a game with you then, because I can't count the number of times I've been a fade, just stopped the marine attack, asked for a gorge to come heal the hive... and gotten no response.

One person even told me 'shut up, it heals itself!' when I asked. And I hate going fade -> Gorge -> Fade to heal the hive because it's badly hurt <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'>

If I'm not mistaken, the hive actually does heal itself (I think.) However, it's pretty slow, so there's no reason why a Gorge shouldn't heal the hive. And yes, I really would like to see a health ring for hives. I'm sure Flayra will get around to it.

The hive does heal itself. However it's so incredibly slow you could almost destroy it, then go afk, go out for dinner and a movie, come back, start NS, join the game, go to the hive and still destroy it in 3 shots. (You get the idea =p)

For that reason I always try to put some defense chambers near the hive, just in case it takes some damage, at least defense chambers heal a little faster.

I didn't know gorges could heal hives... I figured if they can't fast build them they cant heal them either... Ah well.

Though has anyone else noticed that your first hive starts off with absolutely no health? It always starts throbbing away as soon as the game starts, meaning it would be completely open to a marine rush (that would be funny as hell to see, having the tables reversed and getting the aliens to start worrying about being rushed!)

OK easy to fix. Plant a tower of O and D RIGHT below the hive! free attacks against any marines fireing on it, AND constant healing. the full alotment (8 of each tower) should do it. yay! free heal on hive! yay! free Marine snackys ina tin! easy cheesy.

Edit: oh ya almost forgot, whats this "More advanced servers" thingy....
This mod BETTER not turn into a CS like clone of ppl with "But i started shooting first!" or "My l337 hax0r sk1llz w1ll d0m1nat3 j00!!" and what not. i got turned offa cs because it was a FUN game that ppl started to take to seriosly. guys. its a GAME. there are advance tactics, but the easy win just isn't, IMO, FUN. i wanna pwn the whole map, all the res, and have a crowd of onos tearing upt he marine base. I wanna have all my marines in HA with HMG's or Nade Guns tearing up the last hive sight and squishing aliens as they spawn. THE WIN. not the EASY win maybe, and not to quick, but deff more fun for all. anyway, sry about going off there, but i LOVE this mod SOOOOO mcuh, i would be VERY upset to learn that everyone was a l337 hax0r or in some super 3l1t3 clan of losers intent on the WIN, not the GAME.

this is why you should always build some def chambers near your hive.
if they are taken out, replace them...
it slows the killing further if the marines ignore them, or eats up time while they destroy them.
and!
it heals those silly redeemed onos (the ones not stuck in the wall) faster and look great as a fall centerpiece at any dinner party
