<div class="IPBDescription">Been gone a while...</div> Hey everyone. I've been gone for a while (October 2004) and was wondering what was new in NS. Can someone bring me up to speed?

    Rampant speculation on the Big Unannounced System continues....
    Flame wars on clanners vs pubbers or scripters vs nonscripters are monthly occurences.....
    The search function is getting more and more lonely.....
    It's all good. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Hmm, no more sA. or anymore [OsS], lot of people have left. I go into a pub and I barely know anyone, which used to be uncommon before my hiatus from NS.

    This is good. It means that NS is expanding. If you knew everyone, then the community would be too small.

    As for new things in NS:
    -In B6, aliens get passive regen. This breaks DMS. This is huge.
    -Were you around when combat came out? That's the other big thing that I remember.

    breaks DMS? so will it be MSD or something?
  • SkySky Join Date: 2004-04-23 Member: 28131Members
    It seems like it's possible that sc got enough of a boost to be a viable first chamber. Free sof is always good, and uber-cloaking sounds amazingly effective.

    I don't have B6, but I played on Voogru's server, which had a plugin that does the same thing. Sensories and movements were definately viable options.

    I also forgot to mention that upgrades will cost nothing, so that skulks can actually benefit greatly from an MC or SC.

    I've played B6. Chamber orders are no longer "You WILL choose this." then the gavel is SLAMMED against the table.

    You seriously have a choice between DC, MC and SC.

    Im also back, in the forums at least... few q's:

    What is NS:R? Also i havent found a single thread about NS:S, is there any possibility that they will port NS to source?

    Thanks in advance.

    NS:R = NS Retail <- look through the news announcements of January
    NS:S = NS Source <- you have not found anything about NS being ported to Source. I am surprised because there are plenty of threads try searching. Look HARDER. Look through the news announcements for January.

    I think everyone is quite sure that they will port NS to Source. They have said that they are going to do a port, most of the players who have NS have bought HL2 (or will readily buy it; after all, most of us bought HL1 for HL1, not for NS), and people have even started remaking the textures for the Source engine (check the stickied thread in the mapping forum).

    It's just a matter of time (6+ months, probably), in my opinion, before it comes out.

    Thanks for the info.

    I didnt see anything about NS:R in the news section or does NS:R equal to NS2? Or am i blind... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Also i noticed some interview post in the news section, but no link to transcript or anything. They mentioned something about NS:S. Id like to see that transcript of the interview if anyone knows where to find it.

    There wasnt actually lot of info about NS:S, only that they will most likely port it to source, some day.

    Hope that day will come soon. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Cheers...
