I'd like to see a list of what everyone likes from current or past versions. Simply put the version name somewhere by the point your making, but please dont be vague about anything. I know some people, including myself, liked the longer games of the past versions, but please dont list that. Something like "lifeforms no longer dependent from hives - 2.0 and above" would be acceptable. Please dont comment on other people's opinions, I dont want this degrading into a flame war.
My aim is to get the players feedback on what they do and dont enjoy about NS from now and past versions. Thanks for helping...

things i dislike: cloaking, electronification, sentry torrents (although theyve never been any worse). also i didnt like some of the new sounds but ive gotten pretty used to them now.
Major bug fixes as the versions go along, providing great relief.
Silence silencing attacks.
All chambers having at least one use apart from upgrades=awesomeness

None of my likes/dislikes are directly related to balance.

Can you be more specific of why you dont like turrets?
One thing I miss from 1.0x is leap. It was much more powerful, even if I had crappy framerates back then.
Personally I think that automated defense shouldn't be in a multiplayer game. They shoot for you and prolong the game unecessarily.

The alien game currently has 3 hit and run aliens - you only need one. (make the lerk support again, the fade a soldier, and the onos the godlike tank.)
Combat could use some changes to make it more like an ns_ match. *cough<a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=88366' target='_blank'>link</a>chough*
Commander improvements - being able to control troops by dropping buildings and medpacks in the general directions and voicecom has helped this a lot. The binds to squads, but more importantly buildings has been great. 2.0x ->
The current blink and skulk movement without relation to screen control - The skills needed to be pro at many of the aliens. 2.0x ->
Dislikes:
- Temping for rez and dcs. I just hate the fact that most ppl have to do it, automatically seperating the team up to people who are support and others who fight. I'm a crap fade who because of this, never gets to fade because the game relies on it. It's also no where near as fun as making your own 'traps' for marines. 2.0x ->
- Removal of some of the commander orders such as guard here or pick up weapon, etc. <- 2.0x
-**Forgot this** - The alien team being a scary thing to mess with. They are aliens and not plush toys. <-- 1.04 can't believe i forgot this most important 1 :'(

Please note that these are all my opinions.

The lerk should be a harassment unit - something that is hard as hell to hit, but goes down fast when you do hit it. To that effect, _slightly_ reduce it's hitpoints and give it a fairly hefty speed boost (say, +100 units/second). Then, ditch bite for spike again, *but* increase the ammount of adrenaline spike uses so that a lerk won't do much when spiking a building. Spikes should also do 1/2 damage to buildings. In essence, the lerk should be spending most of it's time popping out of vents, firing off a spore cloud and then pulling back in. Spikes would be used to take out marines that have been softened up with spores, and also to wear down HA. I should also note that multidirectional lerk flight should be reintroduced (it's in the bugtracker).

I have two different ideas as to how the fade could work. Either keep the current fade as a hit-and-run alien, or change it to a soldier. Suggestions for how the current H&R fade could be tweaked or made into a soldier abound in the I&S forum.

Please. For the love of god. Make him a tank. Not an indestructable game-ending lifeform, but something that doesn't have to run like a pansy whenever more than one marine is around. Give the onos some damage resistances (ie: -25% damage from HMGs/shotguns, -50% all other weapons). Then, change out his abilities so they are more like this:
1) Gore - have it do more damage. IIRC it used to do 120 damage. Why don't we try that again?
2) Ram - onos rushes forward real fast. If it hits anything, it does 500 damage to it. Has a 3-5 second cooldown time before ram can be used again.
3) Devour - no change, just move it to the 2nd hive weapon slot.
4) Stomp MkII. This is based on an old version of stomp. Essentially, all marines in a certain radius (say, 1000 units horizontally, +/- 300 units vertically) of the onos get stunned for 3 seconds. This takes 1/2 of the onos's energy, and has a 7+ second cooldown time to prevent spammage. IMO it would be a 3rd hive ability worth fearing. Naturally, this would require the onos to cost 100 res/5 points again.
(Author's note: this comes from a pubber's point of view. Yes, I know that a 'skilled onos' is supposedly a match for a trio of HAs. That has never been my experience in a classic map.)

Armor 2 taking the same amount of hits from focus as armor 1.
Focus in general but I don't see how it could be tweaked or taken out. It's both a good and bad addition to the game(It depends on what team you join).

The Onos is not strong enough, in my opinion, and should cost 100 res.
The lerk was intended to be a "support" unit - I am seeing the exact opposite -- I do not like lerks being able to bite, it is counter productive to their intended role.

3) Team work that was prevelant in versians before release of CO. (not hitting on co as i dont think its the only reason teamwork has died off)
4) the occasional game of CO its refreshing
5)Epicly long games, i dont care if i join half way through becoz itll go for 30/40 mins after i join anyway
Dislikes:
1) Lerk not having spikes (this took away the aliens only ranged attacker at 1 or 2 hives)
2) Onos make him a god, a leader, a tank ! give skulks increased Adren around him or something make him stronger.
3) Weakness of OC's
4) watering down the difficulty and importance of the classes, allowing every **** and harry be 1337 at every class.
5) electrification
6) <= 15 MINUTE GAMES ( I hate lightning rounds) dosnt feel like ive achieved anything

I also hate the fact that the game relies on fades so much. I'm not a very good fade, so I can never go fade because I know I could serve my team better by building res/hive/chambers while others go fade.
Hand grenades, good idea, but I absolutely cant stand the model/animation/everything because of how they throw, can't use 'em.
Bunny hopping, no discussions please, just stating I don't like having to train in a lan game of jumping down hallways to be an effective skulk.
weak aliens, please make onos tanks once more, not these fat and wide mouthed fades they are now.

Perma-gorge, 2.0? Where gorges got more res than other alien, of course, this will mean bringing in a "newb comm" syndrom to the aliens about their gorges.
Also, anyone else think it would be interesting to try a (well made, not some custom terrible CO map) NS map where it's marine vs marine, or alien vs alien. Not a normal map mind you, a specially made map for it to try it out. Of course ,I doubt any serious mappers would want to waste their time on it.
