My buddy is upgrading the server to a .Net server once it is up and running ill post the specs and tell you all how well it runs. .Net is the XP server OS its suppose to run servers alot better than win2k pro and such. All we do is tell it the kind of server we are going to run and it will Config the PC for it and then we are done. So it should be up by Monday once again.

Anything with ".NET" in it sounds like something that reports back to Microsoft...think you should do that? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I hate to burst anyones bubble, but .NET services have nothing to do with running NS servers, and if anything will take up more system resources once implemented.

.NET is like a J2E development platform.

    Here is a brief overview, <a href='http://webopedia.com/TERM/d/dot_NET.html' target='_blank'>http://webopedia.com/TERM/d/dot_NET.html</a>

Actually Bilks, you are confusing two separate things. The .Net architecture is Microsofts implementation of XML in some enterprise ways. Sort of a corporate direction.

The .NET Server line (of Standard, Web, Advanced, and Enterprise) are the new XP-kerneled server replacements for the Win2000 line of servers. They are not yet released, so their cost right now is $0. You can download Release Candidate versions from MS right now if you feel like digging around their site, or if you are an MS Select customer or MSDN subscriber. It's basically in a very late Beta state.
