Why Does The Search Function Not Work

<div class="IPBDescription">For me and lots of others.</div> Normaly Id PM an admin but since I know for a fact many other people have the same problem including MonsE im gonna ask here so others can see the responses.


Why does the search button not work for so many people?

Ive tried it in both IE and Firefox.
You search for something and it just goes, and goes, and goes, and goes, (page trying to load) and nothing happens. Then it times out.... I never had this problem until the new forums came around.



And its really annoying to have to go through every page of threads in trying to not double post something b/c the search function is Fubar.

And its also really annoying when u might miss something or simply dont have the time to look back manualy through all the previous posts and then some guy is like OMG Y DIDNT j00 Teh S34RCH BUTToN j00 N00B!

Why?
BECAUSE IT DOESNT WORK FOR HALF THE PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD!

Any plans to address this or is their some simple solution that i need to be made aware of?

    I just typed in "firefox" and got a nice large page of search results.

    I always thought the 'search-function-does-not-work' ploy was for people who need excuses when they bring up a topic thats been discussed to death several times.

    There are two <b><i>different</i></b> search functions. The one at the bottom of the page in each forum does not work for me. Clicking on the link at the top of the page and using the full search form does work. So, the results here might support exactly what I just said, but no one has said which search they tried to use.

    Neither of them work with me.

    With the one in the top right, if the search is only for 30 days it works, any longer and about 99% of the time it doesn't.

    Searches can just time out in case of high pressure on our server. While the regular forum functions seem to be working well now, the men in charge are still busy getting them into better shape, so I fear you'll just have to show patience.

    Oh, and on a less friendly note: <b>It's 'you', not 'u'. Stop raping your own language!</b> Please tune in tomorrow for more "Stories of an angry German."

    Hmm, does anyone have a link to the video from Garry'sMod
    with Alyx being a DJ and DOG gettin his groove on?
    I think the company who made the game that used the teleporters
    (something about a princess and weird little goblin thing?)
    made it.

    I've tried searching but it times out. :-/
