hi thar, heres my map its a blatent remake of co_lemmings havent slept for 3 days as ive been making this map so ill keep it simple. Still a work in progress and there are bound to be some things my bleeding eyes missed.     Ummm, judging by your screenshot, it would really be a PAIN to climb those ladders.
    Unless marines get JPs, they still have to climb those ladders, and kharra just needs to drop down/leap/blink/fly to get their neat-and-ready-to-eat meals.

    it is a funmap it did look nice until i had to reduce the poly count totally.
    btw timewarper thats the dynamic of the map and people love to play it as any team.

    id like to see you make a big map like this, make it better looking than mine and keep to the poly count of mine while still maintaining the original form of the map.

    god i love use mapping forums they rarely contribute anything good, just mappers badmouthing other maps.

    The reason your r_speeds are probly high is because halflife hates large areas like that.

    Why would I want to make a map like that, it's ugly? Your map is hidious and poorly textured. Tou have textures scaled way too large, and from what I've seen, I could make that map in about 30 minutes.

    It's dull and boxy, and while it may be amusing to play, it's ugly. When you come into a mapping forum, expect people to give you honest oppinions. And those oppinions are based off of screenshots, and yours are ugly. Did I mention that this map is ugly?

    You are learning how to map, good for you! When you learn, come back and post a real map!

    I mean, holy **** those wall textures are scaled huge! It reminds me of ns_missilecommand back in 1.04... (not a good thing mind you!)

    I can see that you have a lot of the techincal things down, you're well on your way. You look like you understand entities, now work on your architecture and make a real co_map. Put detail in it. You have to spend a lot of time making a map (possibly why I havn't released a map <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->) so keep at it, just don't post crap like this ever again!

    i didnt even take the time to read your whole post tbh, dude ive been mapping on half life for a very long time, i know why the r_speeds are bad and i also know that

    dont give me that "im better than you at mapping" crap, i dont care what you think and there is only ONE texture that is scaled up to high and the reason for that is because the original map used that texture scaled up.

    Caboose, I'd like to see you make a map with such huge, unbroken walls, that looks good with any texture, under the HL1 engine.

    The map is ugly, but it's a funmap, so functionality is a lot more important than appearance. Funmaps are supposed to be a novelty that gives you a break from the main game, which has a lot more depth.

    First off, caboose told you exactly what is wrong with this map. It's large, open, the texture job maks the baby Jezpuh cry, and overall it's rather ugly. Make areas smaller, and try to make better rooms (Hint: Flat walls = boring).     Come up with some properly textured, detailed, non boxy funmaps. Eventhough it is a funmap, doesn't mean it should look so f...... ugly.

    Take a look at that siege map (which I don't remember the name anymore)... it has some pretty details and is properly textured and stuff, and it plays great.

    This is just... ugly. It makes my eyes hurt. I don't even want to play it, not even run the damn map. If you're a regular visitor of this forum, you could've expected such replies.

    Im not a person screaming "crap!" or "go away and die." but seriously, I cant see anything special about your project. to get yourself a nice, clean, warm, respected place in this forum I have a suggestion: NEVER EVER post "map that is beneath my skill but I dont had the ambition to spent months in a decent map"-screenshots anymore. just an idea ...
    if you look at the last 4 pages of the forum you will easily find about 5 threads with maps similar to yours, create with nearly none efforts. so please, dont exspect all of us to praise you.

    This is the very first thing ive ever done in ns. GO GET ****.

    im an official HL2 mapper for Battlegrounds & Dystopia mods, i also have a dod map that is played in cal, cs funmaps that have their own servers.

    everyone who posted negatively because the map was too "boxy" or ONE texture was scaled up too high, go get ****.

    Everyone here has a point, the map is awesomely bad, to start you've taken awful map and recreated it, when it didn't even need recreating because it was a poor map.

    Don't come to the NS mapping forums and show poor maps, it doesn't go down well, and remember that NS have some of the best amatuer HL mappers, so don't expect us to praise your blocky-poorly-textured-funmap.

    And say that you don't see any work from me, that because I'm busy working on a HL2 mod, called <a href='http://www.blackmesasource.com' target='_blank'>Black Mesa: Source</a>.
