This Mod Is About Teamwork...

...not individual achievement.
"I'm winning!"
"I'm the best marine here baby! Look at my ratio!"
"W00t my rat1o r00lz!"

People are so concerned about their own score that they could care less about what happens to their team. It's not limited to just this mod as I'm sure most of you are aware; almost every teamwork-based multiplayer game is littered with the same kinds of quotes as above.

Wouldn't it be great if the game didn't keep track of individual achievement, and only worry about the team?

I'd love to see personal scores removed, and replaced with a count of the total number of kills and deaths on the entire team ('Marines: 74 kills - 152 deaths' for example). This would help take peoples minds off their own personal agendas and devote themselves to the team effort.

Opinions?

I've said that so many **obscenity** times it's not even **obscenity** funny any more. The problem is the **obscenity** you're trying to tell need teamwork, are so full of themselves that they think if the get the weapon they are sitting in base demanding they will win the game, or at least not get so many deaths. Therefore anyway who tries to correct them becomes a newb in their eyes. The whole thing is counter-productive and never seems to work out. If you're comm just ignore rambo marines and help the team to win.

(Sorry if that's a little garbled, it's 1 AM and I've made at least 5 posts saying that today)

No not really but you can still use the status command in consol to check and thats what everyone is doing. I agree i think that it should be removed, from both teams even. Im tired of everyone from the aliens team bragging about how they have 60+ kills. Who cares how many damn kills you have. The game is great but sometimes it gets old when people go off about how they have a better score then anyone else on the server and everyone sucks because of it.

well if you look at what he's implying, he's talking about the scoreboard and how its condensed into the header... but its already that way.

Woops, I don't know why I used the marines as the example, it's the aliens I meant to use. (Hey I'm tired )
But it is still just as bad on marines thanks to the status command.

Even though I screwed up the example, the point still stands.
