Widescreen Monitor - Fov

I have a brand new Dell 20.1 widescreen flatpanel(yes I know I suck so let that be the end of all flames). I'm playing with the widescreen setting, but instead of having a larger field of view, I'm getting the top and bottom of my screen chopped off. Is there any way to increase my field of view instead?

FoV is set, the default is the maximum.

no, payiong a few hundred $$ extra dosn't alow you to exploit <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> (as that is what a larger FoV would be)

The reason why your scrn is getting choped is b/c your monitor is ussing a non standard rezoloution, thus NS tries to display at a standard rez (that is as wide as your reaz but taller).
