We have gotten an overwhelming response about this server and that makes us happy. I am glad you guys like this server <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Regarding the non-CAL-NS slots, I believe we may be giving out slots to people that are on-par with CAL players, but that is not set in stone. Hellabean will announce that later tonight.
if there is any issue with lag or spikes on the server, you can tell hellabean about it and he'll forward it to me so i'll check on it. The server is running very good though at the moment so dont think that'll be an issue <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Just going to say then... Technically I'm still in cal <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

6 months ago who would have thought NSA would be doing this. Just amazing guys, can't begin to explain how this boosts my hopes of the rest of the community will drop the **** and get along.

I played some last night and it was great. I hopped in the chair twice, and people were even willing to be res bithces. The ol' "we're all rockstars who don't build base" thing is funny, but we all knew it would happen, and it's better that than 40 minutes of turtling in base.

Anyways, Its nice to know that armslab has stricter standards. The minimum skill level on the server is acceptable.
I'm trying to pull for those who aren't competitive but are skilled to get an oppurtunity to get a slot by going through a #nslearn training session.
Veteran server would give the perfect place to apply the knowledge obtained.

Latency of 200+ can actually be rather helpful, especially for skulking. It just adds a random element to the game that anyone seeking a fair test of their skills finds distasteful.

I think these players should be allowed to earn the oppurtunity to get a slot.

I think adding "active" to cal-ns clan is warranted. (as in, playing matches, have at least 6, assigned to omega/delta, etc.)
As we don't want people to just create teams on cal just to get slots on this server.
Check out "cri" in the team listings

Some people don't have time.
Edit: When I had time to play in CAL, there were a lot of teams that weren't hamptons level, you might want to think about that.
If they are active in CAL, they are either really good, or at least willing to learn.
so you can go afk for 3 minutes in the middle of a game?
the ping is higher that i thought.. around 240. exactly where is the server located?
100-150ms latency is perfectly playable. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to examine their reasons.
Mexcellent.
