Old Maps Vs New Maps

I have been looking forward to 3.0 final for a very long time and when i got it installed and actually started playing i was disappointed until it came to some of my favorite maps being altered. I love the new maps they have put it but i dont like the way they have editted or altered the old maps in 3.0 Beta 5, the maps in in 3.0 Beta 5 for the CO are great, im mainly an alien player myself but i have been on the YO clan server for a few days playing alot and i asked everyone what do they think of about the new maps, everyone perfers the old style of maps.
All the other features which 3.0 fial has brought to us as gamers are great, its just the whole map issues, everyone loved the 3.0 Beta 5 maps and thought they were great.
Im not sure what can be done but if a vote was started im sure you would get a good result on the old maps.

As far as ns_maps updates, it differs from map to map. Personally, I like the new eclipse, but dislike the new hera.
Mixed replies all over. I'd play the newer maps though, all because of the love for learning new things, and because they should be more 'fair', since they're later versions.

Maintenance got some nice additions and marine spawn is now good and doorless.

co_niveus is another I don't like personally - should be called co_vent? Don't like the general appearance of the map and how its laid out.

A small group of players on one server does not count as "everyone", maybe it's not what you meant... but still, the post loses a lot of meaning when it attempts to make very broad statements and then fails to specify problems, or make suggestions.
it's really without purpose.
That ladder down in the sewer above marine spawn is so thick you can see that it's a 2d texture covering it... eek.
Mappers. WE LOVE YOU. Especially KFS, we love you extra-hard.
I think a lot of the changes were very nice. Daimos was, as people say, a fairly dramatic change... I'm not sure I'm ever going to quite get used to how dark it is, but I absolutely LOVE the elevator. It could use some vent access points though, to further the "omigod, going down a deathtrap elevator" sensation. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Still, it doesn't "feel" like Daimos anymore, even if the layout is similar.
co_core is a little odd with the huge readyroom. I mean, it's awesome and all, but I must say it's kind of strange to have a readyroom bigger than the map.
Finally, I must say something about Eclipse... I'm still calling T-Junction Horseshoe, and I probably will for another year. Watch, when 4.0 rolls around, all the newbies will be going, "WTH? What's Horseshoe?" and I'll still be screaming. Hmph.

Yes. Notice that I actually don't like most of the changes to Eclipse, for example. I miss Horseshoe. I just thought I'd throw it out there cuz, well, I still love Eclipse anyways. Just the basic design behind those maps makes me weep with joy.
